A long sought-after favorite of collectors is back in print!! Cecil Aldin is known for capturing the personality of dogs perfectly in his illustrations. If you're unfamiliar with his work this book is a charming introduction. A must-have if you love dogs, and especially if you collect dog books.

My great uncle Walter Emanuel (not Emmanuel) wrote this book over a century ago. We often give a copy of it to friends as Christmas presents for their kids as it really is a wonderful book and is beautifully illustrated by Cecil Aldin. Walter was not particularly old when he died and I have several of his publications in various conditions. I also have an unpublished manuscript of his that he never quite completed. Sometimes I wonder how a third party can copyright his original work but I guess that's how it works. Buy it, you'll enjoy the dog's perspective and then you can give it to your kids.
