Editorial Reviews

His name is El Orejon , the ruthless yet agoraphobic kingpin of the Columbian underworld who surveys his empire from atop a luxury high-rise. But when fed-up street-soldiers Victor and Eusebio decide to double-cross the boss on a cash-collection shakedown as well as gunning down his beloved godson the crime lord dispatches every murderous gangster, merciless thug and voodoo priestess in Cali to eliminate the desperate duo. In a cold-blooded cartel of top dogs, stray dogs and rabid dogs, how much greed and hunger does it take for any dog to stay alive? Óscar Borda and Marion Moreno star in this electrifying thriller from director/co-writer Carlos Moreno that became Columbia s official Oscar® entry for Best Foreign Language Film and made history as its first ever feature to be invited to The Sundance Film Festival.

If you are a fan of gritty crime dramas in the vein of Reservoir Dogs, you will more than likely enjoy this Colombian film. While the Amazon synopsis for the film isn't entirely accurate, what is true is that this is a movie that will keep you in suspense until its unpredictable finale.

Cali, Colombia native actors Óscar Borda and Marlon Moreno both offer great performances as criminals Eusebio and Victor (respectively). Despite only having a strong career in Colombian television, Borda shines as the intense but likeable hood that falls victim to something much more mysterious than street violence.

If you enjoy thrillers with a healthy dose of gangsters and black comedy thrown in, this is a great DVD to own. I've seen my fair share of low-budget Colombian movies that didn't bite, Dog Eat Dog is the first with real teeth.

One of the best crime dramas I've seen; the only recent rival is "Animal Kingdom." It's violent, but you can't tear your eyes away.

Resembles Reservoir Dogs, bu the spanish version. Weird movie, but both actors were great! Marlon and Oscar Borda the best Colombian actors period!
