The easy-to-read text discusses subjects such as friendship, following commands, and playtime. There is also a brief section on dog mating written in simplistic terms that may leave children with a few questions. The glossy, captioned full-color photos are large and appealing; spreads at the end touch on working dogs and include snapshot profiles of other breeds. An acceptable addition on a popular topic.
