I may have mis-read what I was getting, but I was hoping this book woud give me places where I could hike with my dog in the pacific northwest. It goes into detail on the towns and restaurants I can go to with my boy, but it glosses over where we might hike. I was looking for lots of trail recomendations.

New to Oregon (and to dog-owning) we were eager to do a good job socializing our puppy and this book helped us do just that. The lists and ranking of dog parks, trails, restaurants and hotels is extremely helpful. We keep this book in the car and it comes in handy for giving our pup a play break on road trips, and for finding fun spots during weekend adventures. Wherever we move next, I play to buy the appropriate version of 'The Dog Lover's Companion' for that area!

I'm new in the area and had no clue where I could take my dog. This is a great guide for the whole WA state. Tells you all the goods from dog parks to restaurants you can take your dog too. I LOVE it!

We purchased this book to help plan a trip to Oregon. It really helped both in the planning and while on the road for some last minute destinations. We found some great places to stay and eat. Look forward to visiting some other sites on future trips.

Planning my 2 week trip has been so much easier with this book. I want to have a great time, but want my dog to be happy too, so I am always trying to find ways to make that happen!

I was disappointed that there were not more specific references to where to buy pet products. I bought this book because I will be moving shortly and will be new to the Seattle area. This did not give me the information I need as to animal friendly neighborhoods, pet stores, etc. The information given was too general for me. I have Seattle guidebookss that give more info.
