I can't believe people are calling to get books banned. If somebody publishes a book like the biography of a terrorist or the memoirs of a serial killer, should we try and get those books banned? no way! If you don't like something just don't buy it and don't recommend it. This is like trying to banned TV because its too violent, just monitor what your kids watch and if you don't like something just don't watch it and don't try to make people think like you do... grow up people.

Thank you Amazon for not censoring this book. It is a part of American history. You have gained the loyalty of all my friends and family. You are the best for protecting that American value "freedom of speech".

Well done Amazon

As for the book well yes much of it was distasteful but none the less it was a very interesting and informative book from a historical and sociological perspective, so if you are interested in canine history yes do buy it.

For all you people commending Amazon for upholding "freedom of speech," you should do a little constitutional research, and some more research into the issue of Amazon continuing to sell books about dog fighting. This issue is about what Amazon chooses and doesn't choose to sell. If you honestly think they don't censor, you are naive. They have voluntarily chosen not to sell materials far less offensive, and not having to do with an illegal activity, than the dog fighting materials they offer. They don't sell books on how to make home-made bombs, for example, yet making home-made bombs could be considered a part of American history, which seems to be the favorite defense in the comments here. Various militias and terrorists, including Timothy McVeigh, have used home-made bombs in their protests against the American government. So by your rationale, books "educating" the public about making home-made bombs should be sold. This is only one example. The real issue here is that Amazon CHOOSES to sell materials that promote an illegal activity and educate people on how to participate in said illegal activity. This is not only illegal, it is immoral. The doctrine of "freedom of speech" does not protect the right to say anything you please. I know I have stopped buying from Amazon, though it costs me a little extra to go elsewhere. And if anyone wants to know, a court of law banned cock fighting materials from the site because they were found to promote an illegal activity and educate people on how to participate in an illegal activity. After that, Amazon chose to remove some of the dog fighting items they were selling, but there is still a lawsuit in place for what is left. I imagine it is only a matter of time before they are also, BY LAW, forced to take the rest of this garbage down.
