After years of little to no success using traditional "treat" based, reward-centric training, I happened to catch Cesar's show. I implemented some simple steps from several episodes - not greeting my dogs until they had calmed down (rewarding calm behavior, not feeding excitement); asking them to sit before I put down the food dish (establishing myself as more of an authority figure), and walking them in a more disciplined fashion (burning off pent-up energy) - what a difference! This man has an innate understanding of canine psychology and behavior. There is nothing violent about his methods at all - he is, in fact, rather soft-spoken, intuitive and even spiritual, though always practical, using a slightly different approach, often focusing, and voicing, the HUMAN problems behind the unwanted dog behavior. This is where his genius lies. Most of it IS about training the human; the dogs tend to get right in line when we figure things out. One thing I really enjoy about his method is that he doesn't say very much when training a dog (no shouting the dog's name incessantly, as most of us owners are guilty of) - he uses simple body language, gentle leash corrections, and tons of consistency to get results. Toss out those fattening treats and clickers, give this a try. Five paws up!

This product is wonderful because Cesar explains and shows and speaks the language of the dog in a pack - that is the only way to be. He explains in simple terms what the needs of a dog are and I can only agree with him 100% !! If you want to know more -buy Cesar's Way - it doesn't get any better - you want to communicate with any animal - learn their langauge - everyhting else is bogus!

I completely agree with Cesar Millan, my dogs are pretty well behaved, but trying some of his techniques really made a different immediately. I completely recommend this product to anyone. And completely disagree with the first review, wherein you have to reward your dog for everything, they should listen to you because you love them and want the best for them not because you will reward them with something. You should reward them for tricks, not for well-being and obedience.

I think Cesar Millan is terrific. I've found other dog trainers that I have seen, aren't that great. Cesar knows where I come from. I have a nine year old female Jack Russsell mix. She's fear aggressive, and difficult walking on leash. I used his methods, and they seem to help. It beats yelling at the poor thing. I disagree with the first review who has criticized Cesar's methods. I found that my Coco, is getting better and she still loves me. She still needs work, but I feel she's come along way. She's better with strangers that come into the house. Thank you Cesar. Coco and I thank you. Lauren and Coco. Be calm and submissive.

I don't happen to get Cesar Millan's show on my cable network and have never seen him on any other show, but everyone I know has been singing his praises. I bought the DVD because it was reasonably priced and I was having some aggressive issues with my dog, Dempsey. This DVD gave me enough information for me to correct the aggressive issues with Dempsey. It also gave me the knowledge that Dempsey needs to see me as the pack leader for me to get him to do what I want.

I enjoyed this DVD. It had 3 episodes of his TV show, featuring 2 dog problems being solved in each episode; so 6 informative, helpful training tips for $10 was worth it to me. Cesar has great methods with dogs and seeing it in action is so helpful. Wish we had the Discovery channel to see his show more often. I also bought his book and he has amazing insights in dog psychology.

I believe that maybe not "everything" is ideal for the dog, but those methods are really working. And they don't in any way threaten the dog. He just learns his place with not violence or yealing. Use the leash, make a little sound, touch the back of the dog...Where is the violence in this?

More than that, I've read many different books and articles lately from various authors, species specific or general and those books confirm me a lot that there is a great logic behind his methods.

Of course he offers a "school" of thinking about the psychology and the way of the dog. Others may consider them to be "out of date" or bad or whatever. "Specialist" often defend ONLY the way of thinking they think is better...wrong I think.

For me I'd say, try them, try others and see for yourself. For this one in particular I don't see how a dog would feel anxious, angry, fearful or very sad in the end. He will respect his owner and follow him in his life. The owner will continue to give him affection and care. Some kind of perfect relationship.

Cesar Millan is my hero!!!! I love watching the shows and bought this DVD for my husband since he has a new puppy that he takes on the road with him. For some reason I thought there would be many more shows on the DVD but now I see that you can buy a whole 'season' which probably has more shows than just volume 1 or 2 have. Cesar just uses common sense and that is what I love about him!!! It is almost like parenting, but he reminds us that dogs are 'pack' animals and have dog mentality and how we are to be the leader of the pack to get respect. I also bought one of his books and just think this man 'knows'. It is evident in how quick he can get the respect as leader when working with the dogs.

Every dog owner should view Cesar's videos. Anyone who has a dog they feel cannot be controlled will find new hope with Cesar's methods. Wonderful and entertaining.

Dog owner have a great help to understand there favorite friend the dog. It's easy to follow Cesar in his communication with the dogs and there owner. He makes it fun and easy to get a better life for you and your dog.
