SOW dressed to the '10s,

This review is from: Dog (MP3 Download)
SOW's first album in 12 years, and PIG's first new work in 6 years (he writes, plays, and produces half the album). Her sultry french angsty poetry has lost none of its acidity with middle age, and Raymond's orchestrations sound even better than his last album, when they're good. The one's that aren't so good (the free download Victim, mainly) sound horribly recycled, though- like alternate version of tracks he did 15 years ago. Also not so good- 2 of the tracks (More Candy, My House) are from a compilation they released 8 years ago. They do sound good on this album, however. Overall, the album is great. Really deep bass and punchy songwriting abound. It's good to hear Steve White's talent still contributing to the Raymond camp as well.
