Only if you have a sincere and devoted love for the dogs in your life could you possibly understand and enjoy this book by Nikki Moustaki.

When your dog looks at you with that intense gaze of love, what might he really be thinking? Does he know that he is guilty of a garbage-related crime in your kitchen, or is he just playing dumb (and cute!)?

What are the secret confessions of both dogs and their people? Do you tell your dogs your most secret of secrets? Do your dogs know more about you than your own spouse or psychiatrist? Well, the secret confessions of both dogs and their humans are all here and presented in such an amazingly cute and inventive way with photos, illustrations and collages that the real dog lover will instantly recognize the truth here, even though others may definitely not.

It's also nice to know that Harper Collins made a donation to dog-friendly charities in honor of Dogfessions -- a most wonderful book to own and give as a gift for the other dog-lovers in your circle.

This is a unique collection of the best photos (each with an amusing phrase) submitted to the Dogfessions website. A "Dogfession" is a confession by a dog, or about a dog. They are almost all either very funny or quite touching and I really enjoyed them.
It's a coffee table book, so don't look for substance or facts here, look for laughter, heart-warming phrases and lots of cute (very cute) dog photos. No posed professional photos here, these were really sent in by loving owners (OK I confess I sent one, but I don't know the author nor do I get any payment except the fun of telling friends "Lacey's in a book.")

If you are a dog-lover you'll totally get the concept of this book. (If you aren't, you might still like the fun photos.) I laughed out loud at lots of the Dogfessions, but what surprised me most was how easy it was to identify with the touching "dogfessions" of other dog-lovers. Phrases like: "I told my dog I was pregnant before I told my husband." or "I missed a date just to stay home and watch my puppy sleep." are easily understood by those of us who are "owned" by our dogs.

The only negative I found is that the printer put a few of the photos across two pages and that took away from the impact of those shots, but it was only a few.
A couple of people who did not know my dog was in the book, recommended it to me, so there are some unbiased reviews. I may be biased, but I still recommend it highly. It makes a great gift for any dog-lover.

Nikki Moustaki's wonderful book, Dogfessions, is a must for anyone who loves dogs. Even those who aren't dog people will find something to love in this wonderful collection of photos and captions from owners who know their own dogs only too well and are happy to share their dogs "confessions," or *dog* fessions in this case. It's a great book to leave out for guests to browse and is the ideal gift for dog owners.

Dogfessions is my absolute favorite dog book of the year. It's a great book for all ages, a quick read and really captures every aspect of owning dogs. After visiting the website at www.dogfessions.com, I wish that more of the postcards had been included in the book! I just can't get enough. How about a dogfessions 2?

I LOVE this book! So heartwarming, adorable, silly and laugh out loud funny. Nikki Moustaki pulled off an amazing feat with this book in that she made me love dogs even more than I already do (which I genuinely did not think was possible!)

DOGFESSIONS is a must-read not only for those of us who feel living with dogs makes our life complete, but it is also an eye-opening adventure for anyone who has never experienced the joy of a canine best-friend. Life viewed through the eyes of a dog is life at its simplest and finest, and DOGFESSIONS reminds us to 'take time to smell the flowers" and all those other cliches that really do in fact explain the true meaning of life and love. Life without a dog...I just can't imagine that, and after looking at the soul-filled canine eyes in this great coffee-table book, DOGFESSIONS will touch your heart and make you realize how much greater life is thanks to you four-legged best friend!

i have long been a fan of the website - www.dogfessions.com - and am so excited to have a book of all the hilarious, thoughtful and sweet dogfessions. every time i open this book, it reminds me how wonderful dogs are and that it's their world, we just live in it. (and clean up after them)

This book is incredibly cute and moving, too. I've read the whole thing but I often go back and read it again, or pull it out to show friends this or that dogfession. My kids love it, and will flip through it for long periods at a time. This makes a great book to put out in the living room for browsing and as a conversation piece. It always puts people in a good mood and has amped up the feel-good factor at several recent parties I've had. I love dogs as much as the next dog lover, but this book has the power to make that love feel sudden, immediate, passionate, and important. It reminds us why we love dogs. It makes me hug my dogs. Dogfessions rocks!

This book was inspired by the Dogfessions website - owners can send in their secret confessions about their dogs or their dogs can send in secret confessions of their own! A wonderful concept for those who love their fur babies. This book is filled with candid photos and confessions of all sorts - if you need your daily warm and fuzzy, just open this book. Any dog owner will read this book and agree, sympathize, laugh - you name it. It's our coffee table book and so many visitors have enjoyed it!! You will read this book and immediately want to hug your dog!!! A fabulous purchase and we enjoyed it so much we bought three more copies to give as gifts for Christmas!

I stumbled upon this book when I was having a low day. Page after page, it made me smile or chuckle and half way through I had forgotten why I was upset. This book has become my favorite gift to give this year. Nearly everyone has been touched by a dogs love and this compilation shows first hand how they touch people (and how we touch them). If you want a day brightener, a good chuckle or if you just want to look a little deeper into the thoughts of those soft eyed animals who love us so much, this is the book for you.
