The Best Yet,
By Mattiqua (J-Ville,FL USA) - See all my reviews

Lil Bow Wow album "Doggy Bag" is the best yet.It shows the talent he has and the maturity. His first single "Thank You" dedicated to the fans is a hot one for real. But the "Take Ya Home"joint is off the chain. It's a song you can dance to all night long. Now yall know he aint gone give yall an album without a little love song and for this album it's called "All I Know".It's talking about how him and his girl be looking a like and how his friends say she got him sprung. But dont get me wrong cuz he is still single and looking for that "Perfect Girl".He'll give you a taste of how he wants his girl to be in the "Perfect Girl"interlude. This album is so amazing words cant describe you just gotta hear it yourself.Another good thing about the album is all the interludes and songs lead into one another perfectly. So if you aint got this album yet GO COP IT!You wont be disappointed at all.Yeah maybe you will cuz you love it so much you want more than 14 songs to listen to.But aint nothing wrong with 14 songs cuz they all are so HOT!

More like Barf Bag,

Here's the ringmaster of Infant Hip-Pop. (Lil' Romeo and Aaron Carter being his ridiculous little understudies). This music is absurd, lifeless and insulting. It's not even worth anymore of a review. I'm done. NEXT!

Good Cd,

I love Lil' Bow Wow's new album! I don't have anything negative to say about it.His rhymes definitely matured becuase he uses lines such as;"I take it to the house so much the call me young trick daddy" "You can copy but it's only goin' be one me" "Neck full of bling bling like the netptune sound" "This So So CO flow is crazy like britney spears"... So I think this album is better than Beware of Dog,but I guess the reason behind that is because with Beware of Dog you can really say he was experimenting.I know he will sell more than 500,000 in one week,as his wishes. My favorite song is "All I Know." If you don't have this album go get it....no,go get two!Even if you are not a fan I'm sure you'll be loving this cd and playing it constantly!Go Cop Tha Cd!

The fact that any record company, ANYWHERE, would even CONSIDER releasing this vomit-inducing pile of garbage is proof enough that the world is in a sad state of affairs.

All bark and no Bite,

I got this CD for Christmas and played the first couple of songs(if you even want to call them songs), and could'nt manage to torture myself any longer. The next day, I took it back to the store for a refund, but the store would'nt even take this garbage back. I managed to sell it to this little girl who probably also listens to britney spears and lil romeo for 5 bucks. This album demonstrates perfectly how actual talent means nothing these days if you can get ten year old girls to like you. On the reviews above this they talk about how his rhymes are more mature. What? He doesn't even write them! They like him because he doesn't cuss. My grandmumma don't cuss either, and I don't see her on no reviews. How he goin' be the best when he ain't nothin' but a voice with a pretty face. Posers like these are what's messin' up the music industry. Little rich kids like him who get easy rides are makin' it hard for any real MCs to make it.

This is OK,

Lil Bow Wow or Bow Wow as which he calls himself now puts out his 2nd LP called "Doggy Bag". This really would satisfy the taste of 13 and 14 year old girls and boys. Jermaine Dupri does do well in producing some hits like "Take You Home" and " Thank You". But theres nothing really else out on this LP that will keep it shining after those two tracks. This CD was rushed and had too many interludes that meant nothing, especially " Jimmy The Cricket". Most of the other songs he flaunts about money and girls 5-8 years older than he is. Bow Wow really needs to rap about things that 14 year old boys can relate to. Not money, cars, and over your age women. Average kids don't understand that and they don't have it either. Bow Wow is a okay MC but Lil Romeo and him will probably be in front of a camera than behind a mic.

"LIL' BOW WOW JUST BROUGHT IN A "DOGGY BAG" OF GOODIES",
By Christopher Jackson (Dallas, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Doggy Bag (Audio CD)
After doing a terrific, or should I say, a BLAZIN' job on his last album, "Beware Of Dog", Lil' Bow Wow (Shad Moss) is bringing you an album that you can sing and dance to all day and all night. That's right, I'm talking about a bag. But not just any bag, a "Doggy Bag", and "Doggy Bag" is the title of Lil' Bow Wow's second album. This album is so good you can just play it over and over again and never stop. His first single, "Thank You" is about fans thanking him for all the love they supported him, and the song is really touching because the song is dedicated to "WHO ELSE" but the fans. Lil' Bow Wow did a good job on the video, JD, Jagged Edge, and Fundisha, too. I listened to another song called "Take You Home". That song, you can just dance, shake, the song is just full of excitement and creativity. The Neptunes, who produced the song, "Take You Home", comes out with a different style of music. I like the Neptunes, they're good. And there was another song that's for the ladies. Well, its not just for the ladies, its for everyone else called "All I Know". That's a nice, slow-rap song. The song expresses the boys and girls to have a good relationship in their lives. Now if your single, that's Okay. But still, listen to the song, you'll realize what love is all about. The last album, "Beware Of Dog", was a excitement with blazin' cuts like "Bounce With Me, Bow Wow (That's My Name), Puppy Love, and Ghetto Girls". But with an album that has good songs such as "Thank You", "Take You Home", "All I Know", "Crazy", and lots more, make sure you get "Doggy Bag". It's a crazy, but a good album. And when you get this album, you will here more songs on this album than the last album. Trust me, I got it.KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING, BOW WOW. YOU'RE A BIG MAN NOW. I'M OUT. PEACE!

Why? God, Why?,
By C. Conard "ExtremeAvalanche" (Fort Collins, CO) - See all my reviews

Lil' Bow Wow's a wanksta! Does this toddler think he's the ghetto child? Unless you're a fruitcake, then you'll listen to Eminem and the big Dr. Dre! Only little girl sissies would like this one. And why does he think he's twenty when he's like, eight? Don't buy this album if you're a rap fan. And if you are a little, squealing ten-year old "ghetto girl" then maybe you'll enjoy it for a couple of weeks!

Just by looking at my rating alone, some people may think I don't like this album because I'm not young enough to appreciate it. Actually, I had no problem with Bow Wow in the past. I think he has skills. But he sure isn't using them on here.In most of these songs, all Bow Wow is doing is bragging about being 14 (at the time) and having more money than your daddy. And the guest stars don't help matters either. Several songs feature uninspired rapping from someone named Tigah (by the way, you know the rapper is wack if he keeps spelling out his name). Also, Da Brat's verse on "Crazy" doesn't seem to belong. Since this is the second album from a So So Def rapper, you'll find the usual things on here like an obligatory speed-rapping song ("Crazy"), guest stars having bigger parts in the song than the artist has ("Pick Of The Litter"), three pointless skits IN ADDITION to the intro, and almost every (if NOT every) song containing a sample. By the way, there's a difference between sampling a song and just ripping it off, because the chorus to "All I Know" is the entire first verse of New Edition's "Candy Girl". And the song also features a weak interpolation of Jay-Z's "Ain't No N". Even the intro lifts Eazy-E's "We Want Eazy". (The intro is called "We Want Weezy". How creative.) One thing I forgot to mention about this album is something else it does that is also common for second So So Def albums: after a bunch of weak songs, the album is over in about thirty minutes. If this label plans to have any kind of rap future, they better get their act together. |
