Excellent size! We purchased this for our dachshund. The poor guy ruptured two discs in his back and he is only three years old! Needless to say he was not happy when we started taking our doberman for bike rides without him. We originally purchased a basket for the front of the bike (the sporty "snoozer"). It is also an excellent product, but there just isn't enough room. This bike trailer allows our little man to stretch out and look out! The wheels are rubber with metal spokes. They are high quality and make for a smooth silent ride. We use it every day, and there is so much room, our parrot comes along too!

Bought this Doggyhut Medium Pet Bike Trailer/Jogger based on 5-star reviews. At $116 and free shipping, it's a good price for a pet trailer compared to others AND you get the jogger conversion kit compared to other more expensive pet trailers without the jogger conversion kit. It's very similar to an older model of the Solvit pet trailer which I saw on youtube. [...]

Cons:
* Folding down the pet trailer is not as quick because the tow bar is attached with 2 star knobs on each side of the housing. While this isn't difficult, it takes more than 2 seconds to unscrew and then fold the trailer down.
* A bit heavy for a small person to lift out of the vehicle

The size is okay for my 22 pound eskie. She can lay down in it. And she wasn't afraid to go inside at all when I first set it up. I gave her a treat for getting inside and staying.

I haven't used it as a stroller but notice the front wheel does not turn. It's set at a rigid position, you can go straight, forwards or backward. You would have to tilt the stroller off the front wheel to do any turning.

Also it does not come with a cushion. I ordered a separate cushion for my pup. Also does not come with a safety leash.

I bought this for my 27 lb Boston Terrier. She is unusually tall for a Boston, so I worried that the trailer might not be high enough for her to be comfortable. It is a little low, but so far we've had the front door open while she rides in it and she seems happy to be able to look out. There isn't a good way to strap her in. I attach her leash to her harness then tie the harness to the cross bar in the back and that works. The trailer was easy to assemble and has been easy to ride with. We have only had it for a few days so we haven't gone far. The stroller feature was an after thought for us, but the downside of it is that the front wheel does not turn so it is not easy to maneuver. The other downside is there is no manufacturer and I can't figure out how to get a second bracket for another bike. The bike shop near our house said they could track one down if I bring the bracket in so I'm going to try that soon. Overall, though, it's sturdy, easy to assemble and easy to ride with. Good value.

My brother ordered a large for his 60 lbs bulldog and there were lots of room for the dog to move around so I figure since I have a 30 lbs frenchie, a medium would fit better. When I got the trailer, my frenchie does fit in it and he could lie down, but moving to look in the back is a bit awkward since the space is very narrow. So this medium size would fall in a small/medium category in size, the large is too big for him but gives him lots of room to move around and the medium still fit but hard to move around. So my advice is to get a large if your dog is 20 lbs and up. The medium size fit my 3 chihuahuas with space to move around and they are 10 lbs each. The trailer is sturdy and for this price with the stroller attachment, you can't find a better deal. To turn, all you do is push down on the handlebar thus lifting the front wheel and turn, I did this to my brother's bulldog and it's not heavy. Hope this help you in deciding which size to get for your dog. It does come with a safety leash inside for both sizes.

I was hesitant about getting the medium trailer because my dog seemed well above the dog sizes that others were commenting on. When it arrived, it was easy to assemble, minus the fact that I did need to pump air in the tires since they were flat. I have a 55 lb. medium size blue heeler. It looks like he is small for the trailer but in actuality this is the perfect size for him. If the trailer were any bigger he would move around more and it would affect the towing. He stands the whole time and loves it! I am able to take him all over Portland now. It is like being with a celebrity though-people are constantly stopping and asking about him and the trailer!! I highly recommend the trailer!

This stroller/trailer was the obvious choice when I was reviewing pet strollers for taking my cats and rabbits on walks. The pure "strollers" were either priced too high or looked flimsy. I wanted the medium size in case two of my guys wanted to go at the same time and it is big enough to hold even my 22lb cat with another less "rotund" one. The added benefit of being able to attach this to a bike later on influenced my decision. It is sturdy and well made. The handle does have a tiny bit of wiggle because of the way it is designed to be removed when you use it as a trailer.

I was able to put this trailer together in less than an hour, the most difficult part was finding a 10mm (at least I think it was 10mm) wrench in my unorganized tool box. The front tire tube had a hole in it and customer service replaced it immediately and I received it in less than five days.

One piece of advice, you will need a smaller head air pump to fill the front tire. I ordered an angled air valve tube and ended up using it instead. (Sunlite Bicycle Tube 12-1/2 x 2-1/4 (1.75) Angled 70 Degree SCHRADER valve). I've never changed a bike tube before and with the help of some cheap plastic tire wrenches from walmart I did it in less than a half hour.
Additionally, my trailer does pull slightly to the right. I think it may be an issue with tire pressure so next time I take it out I will measure the pressure in the tires.

My cats have taken to sleeping in it when I have it inside, so the transition to taking it outside was easy.
