We have 2 German Shepherd puppies (brother/sister littermates, now 5 months old). At one point, we actually timed how fast they ate their meals, 1 minute 33 seconds for 2 cups of puppy food floated with canned food and yogurt. Way to fast. We investigated slow feeders. Nothing looked quite right. The ones with the center protrusion wouldn't work because they would work around the outside of the bowl without a problem. The ones with the 4 protrusions on the sides wouldn't work because they would just eat out of the center of the bowl. These bowls have both 4 outer protrusions and a center protrusion. We've had them for almost a month now. The puppies really have to work to eat. We have, once again, timed their eating. Mealtime took 5 minutes 42 seconds. Tripled their eating time. It also seems to amuse/frustrate them since they can't glom their food down. This is an awesome product. The only con I can find is that they're not stainless steel. Make this product in non-slip stainless steel bowl, and I'll be buying it again!!!

I've always uses Corelle bowls for my Bichon and she has always been a fast eater but it never unduly concerned me. Last month, however, we adopted a little Maltese mix rescue and found out what a fast eater really was. This little girl practically inhaled her food and I was lucky to be able to set the bowl down before it was empty.

I came across the Dogit Go Slow bowls as I was looking at dog puzzles and some more expensive dog bowls designed to slow down a dog's eating. The other bowls looked way too big for my girls , who normally don't eat more than one half of a cup at a time. The small Dogit bowls seemed perfect. I wanted to get the two bowls of the exact same type since I am making sure that my ten year old Bichon doesn't feel slighted by having a new sister. I figured the Dogit bowls were relatively inexpensive and so, if they didn't work out, I would not be out much.

To my surprise, the bowls are so very sturdy and the rubber bottom really does keep them from traveling across the room as the girls lick out every morsel and speck of food. They both can get their faces completely in the dishes and I have used both wet and dry food. The dishes are easy to clean too. I really am tickled at how this bowl design does slow down my little food guzzlers and highly recommend it.

This is the 3rd bowl I bought for my 5 year old cat who inhales her food. She still throws up a bit sometimes but this has definitley slowed her down. I had a difficult time finding a bowl small enough for a cat, but this one is a winner!

I was looking at all the available slow-feed bowls on Amazon and having a hard time deciding which one to get for my Weimaraner, a breed that is prone to bloat and stomach twist caused by eating too fast. This looked to fit the bill and the reviews were good, but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. I expected another flimsy plastic dog bowl, but this is a heavy, sturdy bowl that should last a very long while. It also has a rubber ring around the bottom edge to help with sliding (although it's not eliminated with an 80 lb. dog). The large size will hold 3 to 3.5 cups of dry food before the food comes over the ridges, but that number would probably be lower with a larger kibble size. The best part is it has slowed her eating time down considerably, I would say as much as an extra two minutes. If you need a slow feed bowl, definitely consider this one.

I have a Papillion mix that is about 12lbs and a Daschound mix that's like a piggy at 18lbs. They both eat super fast and then end up choking or throwing up afterwards. Anyway, these bowls are very well made and sturdy, but the medium is too large for them. I should have bought the SMALL size!

I ordered the small size which holds a little more than one cup of dry food. This dish is of high quality and effective. It has some weight and a rubberized bottom. My 16 pound Havanese , Mitzi, was eating so fast she was getting hiccups. This has added at least 2 minutes to her meal time. Highly recommend.

I rescued a Husky/Shepherd mix pup when he was about 10 weeks old. After a few weeks of having him, I finally decided to get this bowl for my fast eater. I fed him first (out of 4 dogs) in a different room, walk back to the kitchen to give the other doggies their dinner and he was already done with his food (about 30-45 seconds). It was ridiculous! With this bowl, he still eats like a warrior, but it takes him four times are long. The bowl is made out of heavy grade plastic (even his chewing doesn't make a dent in the bowl) with non-slip grips at the bottom. I got a large so this big boy will have room to grow, and it is pretty big, can fill a few cups of dry dog food, maybe 5-6. I would most defiantly recommend it for any fast eating dogs.

We have a 65 lbs lab/rot mix who inhales his food then throws it back up randomly. This bowl is very sturdy and does what it is supposed to and slows Randy down a bit. I wish I would have gotten a large because his 1.75-2 cups of food fills to the very top, so he can eat the top half like a crazy pig but has to slow down for the second half. Now we typically feed him in two rounds so both rounds are slow and steady.
I just wish there were a bit better guidelines as to which bowl would be best for each size dog...
