The "radiant baby" and the "family dog" were recurring themes for Keith Haring. He drew both motifs in many incarnations. His dogs were distinctly anthropomorphic. Dancing, laughing, ogling, and showing off, they were on occasion an alter-ego of sorts and provide a touching and funny counterpoint to his more monumental work.
