This review is from: Dogs at Work: A Practical Guide to Creating Dog-Friendly Workplaces (Perfect Paperback)
I have allowed my staff to bring their dogs to work for years and I was amazed to see that someone had written a book about it. This book s well written and brings up issue I had not thought of as a "dog friendly workplace," such as policies to protect your business. We have anywhere from 6 to 8 dogs come into the office everyday and it is the most valued benefit I offer. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is inciteful enough to already allow dogs in the workplace as well as to anyone who is thinking about allowing their employees this wonderful option.

I've known and admired Liz Palika for 20 years, and know few her equal as a dog-trainer and book author. Jennifer Fearing I've known for much less time, but what I've seen has impressed me -- she's a tireless advocate for animals, and she is very solution-oriented. Together, this is a dream team for an important topic with lots of potential pitfalls: How to have dogs in an office environment without problems.
I got an early look at the galleys, and was so impressed I ordered a couple books for giving to friends trying to get office policy changed to a more pet-progressive approach. This book offers a common-sense approach and common-sense solutions that will keep most everyone happy. In my job as a syndicated pet-care columnist, I have the luxury of writing with my pets nearby. I hope this wonderfully practical book will help others realize the dream -- along with reduced stress and increased productivity -- of a pet-friendly office. Great job, Jennifer and Liz! -- Gina Spadafori, Universal Press Syndicate pet-care columnist and top pet blogger at PetConnection.com |
