Terrific!
I have to admit that I initially bought this book on the basis of the cover photo. So cute! But once I started reading, I couldn't stop. These are terrific stories. Each one is gripping in it's own way. The bravery, tenacity, and smarts of these dogs are unbelievable, and the author brings each tale to life. One can only hope that somebody in the Pentagon reads...

Cover photo is the best thing about the book
Interesting stories but a pedestrian writing style. A sad disappointment. Jilly Cooper's "Animals In War: Valiant Horses, Courageous Dogs, and Other Unsung Animal Heroes" is a much better read.

I have to admit that I initially bought this book on the basis of the cover photo. So cute! But once I started reading, I couldn't stop. These are terrific stories. Each one is gripping in it's own way. The bravery, tenacity, and smarts of these dogs are unbelievable, and the author brings each tale to life.One can only hope that somebody in the Pentagon reads this book. Who knows, maybe dogs will be an effective tool against the terrible terrorists who have ruthlessly attacked our country. Let's hope so.
