5.0 out of 5 stars Disney Productions should be all over this for a movie!
I read this book a couple of years ago, and to date, it still remains a favorite of mine...it's the good old fashioned clean fun and mystery that all ages can read and enjoy, and I would expect soon to see it made into a movie...the kind that doesn't have to be rated anything but excellent!

1.0 out of 5 stars Plane Boring
Just like all books these days Dogstar had to be dull and boring. The begging of the book went on for far too long. Its slow moving and a whole bunch of the words are to hard to understand.Theres too much description and sometimes you'd just wish that Jeff and Rose didn't have to go to ball game instead of just going onto DogStar. Some charecters are lame especally Patsy...

4.0 out of 5 stars TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS, EVEN TIME TRAVEL, September 3, 2000
This review is from: Dogstar (Paperback)
Grieving over the death of his anvil headed English bull terrier, Jeff's parents take him on a trip to ease his grief. A statue of an English bull opens the door to time travel. As Jeff makes his way through the decades with the English bull, he makes his way through and out of his grief.

This is a well written fantasy that I think will appeal to all ages. It's a great story, but impossible of course.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a good read for dog lovers of ALL ages!, April 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Dogstar (Paperback)
My wife and I read the first three chapters of Dogstar as offered on the Patsy Ann Web site and thought the book sounded like a great gift for our young (early teens) nephews. We ordered a copy for each and when they came in, we found ourselves sitting down with the book for a glance to refresh our memory of it before sending the copies on to the boys. Well, both my wife and I read the book cover to cover, and (despite being decidedly middle-aged) we enjoyed the thing immensely! We are here to testify that this little book, despite its obvious appeal to a young audience, is a darn good read. We've talked about it among ourselves at some length and we sincerely believe that the book is a must-have for dog lovers of any age.

Any responsible adult will read a book before passing it along to a child. Imagine my surprise when I actually enjoyed this one. A pleasure to find a book aimed at a younger audience that doesn't talk down to their age group and offers solid entertainment. Highly recommended, and more enjoyable than many of the books I've read for grown-ups recently. I may still pass this along to the intended recipient, then again, I might just keep it to read again...

The boring parts could've been more exciting. Two other kids at my school agree with me.So why did I read the whole thing in total bordom?DogStar was one of the books in this reading club I signed up for in school.I had to read it and it was far to long for a boring book!Don't buy it.
