A Great Start, March 31, 2003
This review is from: Dogtown and Z-Boys (Audio CD)
If you love this movie (and I'm sure you do or you wouldn't be looking at this CD), than you are probably wondering where some of the essential songs are that were in the film. My guess: Copyright issues. It is a pain making a compilation. Oh well, all the same -- this is a good start. But here are some of the missing tracks you'll want to add to your own collection. Seasons of Wither (Aerosmith), Hots On For Nowhere (Zepplin), Alladin Sane (David Bowie), Godzilla (Blue Oyster Cult), Fast Cars (Buzzcocks), Gut Feeling (Devo), and One Way Out (Allman Brothers). There are others including Sidwalking Surfing (Jan & Dean), Sneaker Pimps, more Hendrix, more Bowie, more Zepplin, and more Iggy.

What is Good Could Have Been Great, September 9, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Dogtown and Z-Boys (Audio CD)
The movie was great and I've watched it so many times on DVD because of the energy and attitude and the music plays a big part of it. That being said, I always feel a movie soundtrack should bring you back to that energy and attitude. Unfortunately, many songs listed in the credits are not on this CD: Jimi Hendrix's "Freedom" most notable in the movie is missing, as well as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Pink Floyd and many others. If they could have just followed the movie's flow it would have been a great compilation of some of the best of the 60's and 70's. This a teaser that will help sell other records for somebody else because all these musicians are worth indulging in. Did I say records? Sorry, check out the credits at the end of the DVD and buy all their CD's, especially Hendrix.
