So, ya wanna do some good?,
This review is from: Doing Good: Passion and Commitment for Helping Others (Accelerated Development) (Paperback)
This book delves into the motivations behind why people give of themselves to help others in need. Gives understanding to why people are motivated to enter helping professions. A great book for anyone considering a career in counseling or social work, or anyone who is seasoned veteran wanting to gain a clearer understanding at what has driven them to succeed over the years.

Agreed with the previous review that "this book delves into the motivations behind why people give of themselves to help others in need."
I think this book is also helpful for folks who aren't necessarily in a helping profession (social work, etc.) but find themselves being identified as "the helper" by their friends and family. It's easy to have misconceptions about why we help, and although some parts of this book are a little cliched, the content is helpful and will surely instigate some "aha!" moments. |
