Tony Danza stars in this riveting drama based on the true story of Jerry Rosenberg - the world's first convict-attorney. When two cops are dead, and he's the chief suspect, Jerry Finds himself in a maximum security prison awaiting the death penalty. One night, as a fellow inmate is executed, Jerry resolves to save himself by studying law. Despite his parents' doubts, the prison warden's opposition, and the brutality of his surroundings, Jerry eventually gets his sentence reduced to life imprisonment. After graduating with honors, he then uses his skills to arbitrate during a prison riot and successfully represents a fellow prisoner. But when his own parole hearing takes place, Jerry is unable to persuade the board to release him. Regardless of his disappointment, Jerry continues to practice law and become an inspiration to many.

I wouldn't say it's a great movie, but it is if you're a Tony Danza fan. He's very good in it and shows a lot of range.

I recently purchased this Movie "Doing Life" which I had not seen since it was originaly shown on Television back in 1986 or 87. I always considered Tony Danza a very good actor after watching him on the Hit TV show 'Who's the Boss". Even though that was a comedy sitcom, his serious acting ability really comes to the surface in this true to life story of a wrongfully accused man and his persistant attempts at gaining his freedom from the convaluted and twisted American Legal System. Great acting by Danza in a fast paced story that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the movie. Yo!
