More About the Author

Mary Anne Reese lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her poems have appeared in magazines including Sojourners, St. Anthony Messenger and The Licking River Review. Her poetry has won awards from the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, Ohio Poetry Day, the Catholic Press Association and Lincoln Memorial University's Mountain Heritage Literary Festival. She has also published articles in America, Spiritual Life and the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Mary Anne holds a law degree from the University of Tennessee, a graduate theology degree from Xavier University and a bachelor's degree in English from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. She has taken graduate creative writing classes at Northern Kentucky University.

Raised by Water is Mary Anne's first collection of poetry. (Finishing Line Press 2011).

She has also written two books on ministry with young adults in their twenties and thirties: Doing What Comes Naturally: Jobs, Career and Vocation (Living the Good News Press) and Grace Notes (Charis Ministries)(co-author).

The career/vocational book purchased -- which I thought I could reference for a college class I'm teaching -- is completely religious based. Not at all appropriate for a public university class. Probably my fault for not reading the fine print close enough. I'd return it, but it's not worth the money.
