Book Description

1894549376 978-1894549370 October 30, 2004
From the boom of the 1990s to the bust of early 2000, women have been applying their skills and knowledge to careers in Information Technology. "Doing I.T." demonstrates that women in the field continue to face barriers preventing them from reaching their full professional potential. Scott-Dixon examines the IT environment's traditional workplace that keeps gender, race, class, ability and pay inequiteis frimly in place. Drawing on personal interviews , she shows that despite barriers, women in IT bring passion, wit, intelligence and creative resourcefulness to the shaping of their career paths.

This review is from: Doing IT: Women Working In Information Technology (Women's Issues Publishing Program) (Paperback)
