Dr. Anthony clearly means well, but this volume was a waste of time for me. It is a loosely organized collection of pithy and obvious observations, anecdotes and truisms. There isn't an original idea or suggested approach in here--in spite of the great title.

My mechanic and very dear friend, Donald, from Cumberland RI, gave me this book in 1990. First let me speak of him because it ties into the book--Donald was not an ordinary mechanic. You knew that from the outset--that he was 'different' First off...his shop was SPOTLESS!!!--From the white rocks that made up the driveway, to the pristine clean, concrete floor without any oil spills to the descending tools by height, in perfect order on the wall the shop--I was simply amazed by what I saw.

Donald was very quiet at first and did not speak much. I noticed he had pictures of different places in his shop and began to speak with him each time a little more.

Donald turned out to be a most amazing man--he was a spiritual adventurer and traveled around the United States and really was on a fascinating journey of life. He ended up sharing stories and anectdotes and was just brillant.

Doing what you love, loving what you do was one book he shared with me. He believed he had everything he wanted in life because he first discovered his true love which was working on cars and fixing them. He believed that that was the means to a life of abundance and riches for him. I was young at the time so he passed it on to me. I read it almost immediately--(COVER TO COVER) After reading it, it gave me the courage to follow my dreams and to live/love what I do and make it a job. It teaches you to pay attention to your passions and desire to make that part of your life forever--as a career, or whatever you choose.

My job now is real estate consulting. It is "tireless" because I truly love it! I wish I found it a lifetime ago. I think this book gives you the courage to do what you love and turn it into a career for life, as Donald did.

5.0 out of 5 stars I did it, it works., January 30, 2011
In the mid-1990's, when I was miserable in my advertising career, I listened to Dr. Anthony's tape over and over again and I bought into everything he said...Boy, I'm glad I did.

For the last 15 years, I've been out on my own as an independent corporate trainer, helping my clients create and deliver outstanding presentations and speeches. Additionally, I've written three books and I'm working on my fourth. My client roster is made up a some of America's most well know companies.

While I attribute my success and happiness to a number of sources, Dr. Anthony's tape played a key role in helping me find the work that I love. I have recommended it many times to people who are not fulfilled in their jobs.

Do yourself a favor, get off the fence and buy the tape.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another gem from Dr. Robert Anthony, May 19, 2010
This review is from: Doing what you love, loving what you do: the ultimate key to (Paperback)
This book focuses on how individuals can live their life "loving" their work or finding work they love. Life's too short not to enjoy what you do for a living. I enjoyed Dr. Anthony's many insights sprinkled throughout the book and his table or exercises towards the end of the book were very valuable. His "Personal Progress Chart" was very helpful and I am enjoying using it. Yes, there is not a lot of original thoughts in here but the true value of the author's insights are reading them over and over again. Let his ideas sink deep into your thoughts.

I have listened to this tape about 60 times. Each time I listen I hear something new and enlightening. Get it, and leave it in your tape machine.
