Editorial Reviews

The second CD from popular Port-based industrial act Dead When I Found Her comes after two years of hard work, stage appearances, and remix commissions. Rag Doll Blues contains 12 tracks of industrial and synthpop comparable to Skinny Puppy meets Seabound, and the notable artist breaks new ground on tracks like New Age of Reason and the crazy-catchy Rain Machine. Definitely a candidate for album of the year!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best album of 2012 December 24, 2012
By M. Day

Rag Doll Blues tops Harm's Way and takes the industrial music genre forward, yet also back to its roots at the same time. When and why did industrial music become four-on-the-floor dance club music? If you listen to 80's Skinny Puppy, those syncopated beats go all over the place, and Dead When I Found Her brings that sense of the unexpected back to what has become a stale genre. There are no bad tracks on this album, but my favorites are "No More Nightmares," "Dry Bed," and "Scissors."

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent December 2, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
DWFH does it again. Really smooth beats and synth melodies. For someone who listens to a lot of EBM and industrial, this is a relaxing break from the screaming voices. It is not a dancing or stomp-your-boots album--it is more of a sit-and-contemplate one, or one for driving. Whatever you intend to be doing while listening to this, you'll be pleased.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic stuff October 16, 2012

A little Joy Division, a little Skinny Puppy, a little old school and a little new. Dead When I Found Her is a band who brings old school industrial back to life with some newer elements, dark themes, and some great sampling. Found these guys on an Industrial Sampler and promptly bought two of their albums without even sampling them first. Their track "New Age Of Reason" is what got me interested and I made the right call in buying both albums sight unseen. Fantastic, gripping music that harkens back to the 80's but has the flare of the new millennium. A must buy!
