This book is just full of clever craft ideas that are easy enough for a girl or boy to do, but fun for adults too.
Ida's girl
I love that she is actually refining her motor skills and ability to follow directions (learning) while having fun on summer vacation!

There are pages of great ideas to fight the "I'm bored" blues from the girls who love to play with their dolls.

I thought that this book would be a good diversion for my daughter during the long summer break from school. When it arrived, she started in right away on creating accessories for her dolls. We dug through the craft supplies and kitchen to find everything she needed. Hours of fun and entertainment by first creating the items, and then by using them in the AG doll world. I love that she is actually refining her motor skills and ability to follow directions (learning) while having fun on summer vacation!

(it also reminds me of my old Sunshine Family dolls that I had as a child. they provided instructions of how to create accessories whenever you bought something from the collection.)

I have purchased two of these for my 10 year old. She loves the American Girl activity books. She can definitely be very creative as the directions are easy for her to follow.

Lots of great ideas in this book. My 5 year old and I have fun making these things for her 18in dolls.

This book, Doll Play, is everything it promised, and more. There are pages of great ideas to fight the "I'm bored" blues from the girls who love to play with their dolls. Some of the activities are as easy as cutting out cute pictures from magazines to decorate the doll's walls or as crafty as making bowling pins from wooden beads and wooden eggs. Each activity will spark imaginative play that will last long after the craft is complete. Many of the activities/crafts use recycled materials or other things around the house. For younger children (under 10), I would suggest picking a few of the activities, having the supplies on hand and perhaps drawing the idea out of a jar or having them choose one. This will keep the doll master from getting overwhelmed with ideas or trying too many things at a time. There are accessories in the back including small cards and letters, party invitations and stickers. I am looking forward to sharing some of these activities with my granddaughter and her doll!
