4.0 out of 5 stars Great book for all ages, February 29, 2008
This review is from: Dollhouse People: A Doll Family You Can Make (Paperback)
This is a great book with good patterns to make your own cloth family for a dollhouse in the 1"=1' scale. You get grandparents, parents and children including an infant. The clothes are Victorian but you could easily modify them if you want. Other dollhouse doll books are for making dolls in polymer clay, something not easily accomplished and I don't think I'd let kids play with them! These faces are embroidered, but I think I'll either paint them or use indelible markers so the thread doesn't get chewed off. It's written for children but you can ignore that and just use the patterns.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Brings Back Such Great Memories!!, October 30, 2010
This review is from: Dollhouse People: A Doll Family You Can Make (Paperback)
I LOVED this book as a kid! I hand-sewed the entire family and multiple outfits for each. I have such wonderful, warm memories, thanks to this book. I lost the book and haven't been able to find it before this. I don't even have any girls, but I'm buying it! A nice feature of this book is that it tells the story of the the doll family, along with the patterns. (typed by Ben's wife! LOL)

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for!, August 19, 2009

This review is from: Dollhouse People: A Doll Family You Can Make (Paperback)
A friend of mine makes dollhouse people clothing but wanted a family of handmade dolls to go with them.
This book was written so that even older children could make this "little family." Cute pictures, simple instructions and line drawings all contributed to making this exactly the type of project for me to undertake.
Have made several of the family people already and will be sending these to my friend for her birthday!
There is a lot of opportunity to add your own ideas and is a great lap project to do in the evenings while watching a favorite program on TV.
