Book Description

October 1, 1999 4 and up

Christmas is a special time at Pumpkin House, where two dolls named Sethany Ann and Nicey Melinda live. Every Christmas they invite their friends to join them for an elegant dinner party and a marionette show. The dolls have fun getting ready for their party: they send out invitations to their guests by Sparrow Post, decorate their very own Christmas tree with silver nutmegs and golden pears, and prepare doll-size cookies and other treats for the party. Then at "candlelight-time" on Christmas Day the guests begin to arrive, and the evening isn't over until the last carol has been sung around the tree.

Tasha Tudor's delightful tale captures all the charm and magic of an old-fashioned Christmas shared with your dearest friends. Beautifully illustrated in nostalgic watercolor paintings, this book will be treasured by generations to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fondest Memories, December 28, 1999
This review is from: The Dolls' Christmas (Tasha Tudor Collection) (Hardcover)
I received a copy of this book over 25 years ago. My father read the book to my family every Christmas Eve and now my husband reads it to our children. The book is a sweet story of little girls and their best friends, their dolls. I would recommend the books highly to anyone with a little girl and am thrilled to see it has been reissued.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think this is where my love of doll house stories started!, May 1, 2009
This review is from: The Dolls' Christmas (Tasha Tudor Collection) (Hardcover)
I, too have fond memories of my mom reading me this book about 25 years ago! (Wow, I feel old!). My mom gave me a "new" copy when it was reissued. (This was the days before the internet.) I love this story, it's about two sisters who have a "doll" house called pumkin. The dolls are the old fashion kind, that are about Barbie's size, and can be dressed up. The dolls have there own Christmas party when the girls cousins come over with their dolls. It's such a cute story! When I was a kid it made me want this kind of thing! If you love doll stories, order this! This is a great story for all ages!
