In Ndebele culture, tight-fitting neck rings are considered the most attractive and essential accessories. She wears golden-colored leg and neck rings called izixolwana. A golden and red headpiece and hoop earrings give her regal beauty. Finally, she carries her own dancing mace to carry on her heritage. I disagree with some reviewers before me. I bought my POTW S. Africa Barbie at a local store and she is actually PRETTIER than pics shown here on Amazon. I love her dark dark skin, and her hair style can be fashionably modern. If you're a collector into redressing, she does well in many nice outfits. Her makeup is beautiful and can look good with contemperory clothing too. Though, the whites in her eyes are somewhat dark (I take it's due to the real dark vinyl behind a regular layer of white paint), but that is sometimes true with real dark black people. It doesn't effect the doll's beauty at all.

The Priness of South Africa Barbie is refreshing. I am an African America Woman and I wish my granddaughter to experience what I didn't. I want her to have dolls that look black, for it teaches her to like the way she looks. I loved the Priness of South Africa's full lips. She is not a white looking doll with brown paint, instead she is a doll that reflects Africa features.

This will be my Christmas gift for both kids and adults this year. I love this doll!

The Princess/Dolls of the World series is one of Mattels' best Barbie lines becuase it exposes all people to different cultures. This doll is outstanding. Her beautiful face is exquisite and very serene. The outfit is made of the finest fabrics and the vibrant colors are totally on que for an African Princess. I hope Mattel also does other African regions (so far the only other doll from the Continent of Africa was the beautiful Eqyptian Princess). Lastly I'm glad we have this forum to voice our opinons and not everyone will agree, but one thing we must remember is everyones opinon is valid whether someone believes it's honest or not.
