As a Dolly fan who has most of her recordings, I like this sampling of songs from other albums. I listen to it often while driving to work, and I especially like "White Limozeen" and "He's Alive". I do wish that the producers had included a Dolly-only version of her arguably most famous song, "I Will Always Love You." While this duet with Vince Gill is pleasant, I would prefer the recording from the original album, or even the remake from "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" which has only Dolly singing. It's a personal preference, though, and does not take away much from my enjoyment of this collection.

This review is from: Dolly Parton - I Will Always Love You and Other Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
After Dolly Parton was dropped by Columbia Records in 1995 due to poor record sales the label released this compilation greatest hits package in 1996 that features her biggest hits with the label. Greats here include her blockbuster #1 hits from "White Limozeen", "Yellow Roses" and "Why'd You Come In Here Lookin' Like That", as well as the beautiful "He's Alive"; "Rockin' Years", her #1 hit with Ricky Van Shelton from "Eagle When She Flies", as well as "Silver and Gold"; and lastly the beautiful duet of "I Will Always Love You" with Vince Gill from 1995's "Something Special" album that won them the Vocal Event of the Year Award from the Country Music Association.

The record basically didn't sell well only going as high as #47 country upon its release. This was due basically because no new material was included on the album.
