Worst purchase I ever made,
By

I bought a Dolphin Diagnostic from the official maker or distributor.
It does not work in a fiberglass pool: can't climb on the ledges and it gets itself trapped into one end of the pool, just moving back and forth on almost exactly the same path for hours. The tech support guy was more interested in making a sale than helping with anything. After I described him the problem he suggested that I buy a different set of brushes, designed specifically for the fiberglass pools - very expensive PLUS an outrageous shipping charge. It turned out that the brushes it came with were actually the ones best suited for the fiberglass pools (but they didn't work) and what he made me buy were brushes designed for concrete pools. Avoid buying it.

This Dolphin gives Flipper a bad name,

I purchased the Dolphin 4 years ago on the recommendation of my local pool store. On the two or three weeks of each season that it was not in the shop for repair, I found that it cleaned the pool great but would dump most of the debris that it picked up back into the pool when I pulled it out of the water. I attributed this to a poor design. Thus far, the drive shaft has had to be replaced (only took 4 months at the factory to repair) and now the motor is burned out which the factory tells me is a $685 item. Needless to say, I expected better service from a $900 piece of equipment. Expensive, unreliable and poor factory service. I am now in the market for a pool cleaner that doesn't have Dolphin in it's name.

worthless,

I unfortunately bought a Dolphin when the people at Leslie's recommended it. It is worthless. If you have even a small amount of debris - leaves, sticks, ect - in your pool, this thing will suck it up, get clogged, and then go back and forth over the same small area in your deep end for 6 hours. Even if you don't have debris, it will pretty much do the same thing. I tried multiple things recommended by their tech support that did nothing for it. The motor is way too weak to power this thing effectively. Poor design. I hate this product.
