4.0 out of 5 stars Sting does it again!
This is a great CD and a must for any Sting fan. I chose to give it 4 stars because it didn't move me as deeply as his earlier IMAX score for "The Living Sea", but it's a strong work nonetheless. The CD opens with the playful dolphin love song, "I Need You Like This Hole in My Head," and then ebbs and flows through upbeat calypso tunes and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Title Should Be HUMANS
I bought this thinking it would have music and sounds related to DOLPHINS.

It was full of HUMAN songs and messages, and especially those of the HUMAN "popular" variety.

THe only thing I can mention as good about it is the short segments of fine instrumental interludes and the information of the CD brochure that tried to give hints on how to protect...

This is a great CD and a must for any Sting fan. I chose to give it 4 stars because it didn't move me as deeply as his earlier IMAX score for "The Living Sea", but it's a strong work nonetheless. The CD opens with the playful dolphin love song, "I Need You Like This Hole in My Head," and then ebbs and flows through upbeat calypso tunes and soothing instrumental remixes of Sting classics. The enduring power of these songs proves once again that Sting is one of the true musical masters of our time. Can't wait to see him live in Austin this summer! :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars The Living Sea, Part 2, July 17, 2000

Sting and Steve Wood do it again. Mr. Wood uses the best parts of Sting's songs to arrange the musical score for Dolphins. I really enjoy the "When We Dance" versions of the score in "When Dolphins Dance". Overall a great soundtrack. Still not as good as "The Living Sea" (That's why it got 4 stars), but a must to have for any Sting fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUSIC OF ATLANTIS BY ATLANTIANS, February 26, 2004

Given his work on THE LIVING SEA and now with this soundtrack for another underwater IMAX classic, DOLPHINS, I am begining to believe that the fabled Sting is an Atlantian refugee. His music is so fine, so perfect and so appropriate here that it just must be a possibility.

The album features Sting songs I NEED YOU LIKE THIS HOLE IN MY HEAD, FILL HER UP, GHOST, and my favorite the classic WHEN WE DANCE. Like THE LIVING SEA, Stings work is beautifully complemented by the score of Steve Wood (quite possibly a fellow Atlantian).

THE HORSEMAN

2.0 out of 5 stars Title Should Be HUMANS, November 26, 2011
This review is from: Dolphins: Soundtrack from the IMAX Theatre Film (Audio CD)
I bought this thinking it would have music and sounds related to DOLPHINS.

It was full of HUMAN songs and messages, and especially those of the HUMAN "popular" variety.

THe only thing I can mention as good about it is the short segments of fine instrumental interludes and the information of the CD brochure that tried to give hints on how to protect and care for DOLPHINS and especially injured DOLPHINS.

LOVE DOLPHINS...

but give the HUMAN CD a miss...

I saw this at the science museum in MN around 10 years ago and purchased this soundtrack immediately following. I listened to it all the time while I was writing papers for college. I just re-purchased this for my slower days at work to help get me through the grind and I still love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dolphins MacGilvray Film and Soundtrack is AWESOME!, May 26, 2009
This review is from: Dolphins: Soundtrack from the IMAX Theatre Film (Audio CD)
This film and soundtrack is incredible. It's a must have. If you have a big screen TV, I recommend this, The Living Sea, AND all the MacGilvray films and soundtracks...they are the best of the best. The music is so incredible on The Living Sea, I listen to it all the time, and the music on the Dolphins CD is positive, uplifting, and brings you right to the ocean! LOVE it! Ciao, Donna

5.0 out of 5 stars memories of living seas, June 15, 2000
This review is from: Dolphins: Soundtrack from the IMAX Theatre Film (Audio CD)
This cd brings me back to Living Seas. The first song is anupbeat tune with calypso sounds and all. I hope Sting puts the sameefforts to saving the family species in his next projects. In the hierarchy of nature, God placed man above everything else. One child lost to abortion is more valuable than thousands of animals. I believe animals should not be abused but more emphasis and organizations should care about saving the family.¨Fill her up¨ is another song with great gospel influence. Sting sings to fill her up with Jesus, fill her up with faith. My kids love the album and it is a very relaxing trip...As for Sting I could say that he has not lost his belief in Church or sense of direction, it is only dormant and waiting to erupt.
