For those interested in this subject matter on a non-professional basis this is an 'Ok' book, it is Really for the 'professional', but for the serious student there is no other book on the subject that is so clearly written and readable. Springer Books in general have no equal that I have found in providing not only the definitive information on a subject from A Number of the Best articles as to date of publishing in the field covered. The price can 'throw' some others off, but what is provided for the $ is well worth it as you get clear, concise, and well written, and in particular Well Edited information. There is a Lot of information here and the authors are at the forefront of their field. A not to be missed volume for serious 'students' in the field! Kudos for some of the authors for even mentioning Jon Lilly, which many scientists shy away from as he was a bit 'shunned' as his techniques and early approach was (and somewhat remains) beyond the boundaries of what is considered traditional science; though if he hadn't done it we as yet may not be treating these intelligent and incredible acoustic mammals as seriously as we now do! Very well written and great diagrams! The more we learn about these 'creatures' the more they astound!
