4.0 out of 5 stars A picture book, people's interactions with dolphins, October 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Dolphins! (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
This is a great book for reading to 4-6 year olds. It talks about interesting stories about dolphins and people. An example: 2 pages cover how a man played with a dolphin in captivity by throwing a ring to the dolphin, and 2 years later, the dolphin recognized the same man and threw the ring to him. The book talks about how dolphins are intelligent and each have different personalities, how they like people, and things like that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Juneau 2nd grader, March 23, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dolphins! (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
Do you like dolphins? If you like dolphins, this would be a good book. It has many facts, like dolphins can dive 500 feet under water without coming up for air. Dolphins can do a flip in the air. Is that cool or what? Did you know that some river dolphins are completely pink?
I like this book because there are great pictures of dolphins. First, second or third graders would enjoy reading this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars good book for our grandson, an advanced reader who revels in reading aloud to us if the book holds his interest, August 9, 2011

Bought this book for our grandson who has been earnestly reading since kindergarten. His teacher didn't know he culd read so well as he tends to be shy; this book interested him so much that he couldn't wait to read it aloud to the class. The teacher was astounded at his prowess & we're glad he is coming out of his shell by reading books that hold his interest...dolphins, dinosaurs, bring them on!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dolphins Need Help, May 25, 2010
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dolphins! (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
I read a book called Dolphins. I like this book, and I love dolphins. We should help them because they could die.

Humans give them the wrong food, and the oil in the ocean is making them sick. Dolphins need your help to save them. Dolphins is an excellent book and you can learn new things. They are magnificent because you can ride on their fins. Dolphins eat fish. Dolphins make funny noises, and they like to play. Most people like dolphins. But some people don't.

Dolphins! (Step into Reading, Step 3)
Another good Step Into Reading book. Plenty of information at just the right level for my boy. This one is a little dated but it is still useful for children. I am glad they included the part about how fishermen kill dolphins when they catch tuna. It tells about how children became activists and campaigned to change fishing techniques by boycotting Tuna. This is the kind of thing kids need to hear about. It lets them know they can make an impact on the world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Step Into Reading level 3: Dolphins: Great book, but not the best level, March 16, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dolphins! (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
You can call me StoryMaker. Step into Reading: Dolphins is a great book that teaches how dolphins are intellegent and have their own personalities. It's a great book, but they rate it level 3. Step into Reading's level 3 seems too easy for a level 3. More like a level 2. Of course, SIR has lots of levels, but people might think that it will help their 2nd grader read. It probably won't. Overall, a great book about dolphins' reactions with people, but remember, it might not be as challenging as you suspected. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"
