Product Description

The original Dolry® from the Swedish company C4 Electronics is an AirPlay and DLNA-compatible adapter for your 30-pin stereo system. Dolry is designed to stream music directly to your speaker system by setting up a Wi-Fi Direct network that supports AirPlay and DLNA with a radio distance of 20-30 meters. You can also connect Dolry to your existing home WiFi network. All devices connected to the same network will then be able to stream music in full quality to Dolry, while connected to the Internet at the same time. Dolry is a small device that you connect to the 30-pin connector of your Hi-Fi system. All your iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad, MacBook and so on will see the Dolry as an AirPlay unit. When you select the Dolry as the target playback device, your music will immediately start playing on your Hi-Fi device. Dolry streams music losslessly to your speakers unlike competing Bluetooth devices which compress and thus lower the sound quality. Dolry's technology also has a much greater range than Bluetooth. Dolry HiFi Stone works like an AirPlay and DLNA receiver that brings new life to your 30-pin connector stereo. After Apple's removal of the 30-pin connector from the iPhone 5 and future products, all docking stations with the 30-pin connector have suddenly become obsolete. The Apple Lighting adapter is one solution but it is visually unattractive and clumsy to use. Dolry is designed to solve this problem, and also adds the tremendous feature to make your stereo wireless. You can use Dolry in your home, in your car or at the beach thanks to Dolry's WiFi Direct and WiFi technology. Please visit Dolry.com for more information.

The sound is better than I've gotten through Bluetooth speakers.
Svend Holst
It is pretty cool if it syncs well but it would be a total waste of money if it doesn't.
Eileen Keng
The light would go off, it would then flash as if it's starting up then go solid.

I have a Klipsch iGroove SXT 30-Pin iPod/iPhone Speaker Dock. I have been wanting a wireless speaker system of some type in my house so at first I tried the WaveJamr. This device uses Bluetooth and did an OK job. But when I started looking around the web at what was out there now I decided that I wanted to use AirPlay instead of Bluetooth because of sound quality and ease of use from all of our iOS devices and Apple computers. I did some digging and found that the Dolry is really the only device that will convert pretty much any 30-pin docking iPhone speaker system into a wireless AirPlay compatible speaker system. Before I found this thing on the web I was actually looking to buy a Bose Soundlink Air, a Sonos Play 3, or something similar. That would have been hundreds of $$$$ more. I am so glad I decided to give this little device a shot. Setup literally took less than 5 minutes. I download the app "DOLRY Music" on the Apple AppStore and followed the simple step-by-step instructions that I was walked through within the app. This allowed me to name the device (living room, kitchen, etc.) and it also allowed me to join the little device to my wireless network. That was it! I was shocked. Immediately afterward I started playing a song on rdio on my iPhone 5 and pressed the AirPlay button. I was excited to see that the device was there as an option in the list and after connecting (took 2-3 seconds) it started playing my music. The quality was MUCH better than the Wavejamr. I am VERY happy with my purchase. If you are looking to get some use out of an old iPhone speaker dock this device is an awesome way to upgrade it to AirPlay.

It took a little doing to get my old, iPod Hi-Fi to work with a little, $7 power adapter. The customer service was awesome, even though I figured my issues out by myself. Just great to know someone's on the other end of the email. The sound is better than I've gotten through Bluetooth speakers. Very happy to have my old beast working via Airplay.

Converted the Bose SoundDock 10 to AirPlay for less than their Bluetooth adapter!!! Sounds better and connects faster, much better.

I bought the unit. It worked great for about a month and then started restarting after about 5 minutes of use. The light would go off, it would then flash as if it's starting up then go solid. I'd play a song and after about 5 minutes it's restart again.

This is a complicated setup. You have Apple's software, talking to an Apple or other wireless router, talking to an adapter talking to a speaker dock for power and audio. The restarting could be caused by many things. The problem was the customer service. I emailed them, got one response that wasn't helpful (the representative misunderstood and thought I just losing my wifi connection verse completely restarting). I then emailed two more times. Recorded a video, posted it on a server and emailed them a link to see what was going on. They never contacted me back. Finally I was forced to go back to the reseller and return it. I think I'll try the Auris Skye instead.

First off, make sure you buy from C4 Electronics, the manufacturer, and not any of the resellers. This is to insure that you get access to customer service. I just received the Dolry yesterday and was dismayed to find that the iOS app was no longer available to download (the app is necessary to connect the Dolry receiver to your wifi network). I emailed C4 electronics customer support this morning and they responded in minutes and directed me to a replacement app. I've now got Airplay through the 30pin dock on my Sony HiFi. Satisfied customer here.

beautiful and discrete. It has replaced my Airport Express and given a new life to my Parrot Zikmu speakers.
Installation and configuration was easy. Saw some earlier replies complaining about the configuration app being in Chinese for advanced settings but I guess they must have updated it as mine was completely in English!

My B&W Zeppelin Mini has been somewhat unused since I switched to an iPhone 5 last year. Now that I've plugged the Dolry into the Mini's 30-pin adapter, I can stream from my iPhone and my Apple TV. Perfect!

The Dolry 30-pin Airplay adapter works flawlessly with the iHome iP1 speaker system! I recommend this adapter to anyone who has an older audio unit and is waiting for a broader selection of Airplay compatible units to become available or who already has a killer audio system with the older 30-pin connector and they are not looking to replace it just yet. This adapter pairs easily with my iPad Mini, iPad 5th Gen, iPhone 5 and my Apple TV 3rd gen .
