Loved this when I first tasted it maybe 25 yrs. ago - this is fine restaurant quality soup. Throw in a big squirt of cooking sherry, a bunch of chopped green onions and a veggie on the side and you have a feast. Unfortunately, it's high-carb, high-sodium and high-calorie. I generally avoid all three, but I have to indulge in this soup once in a while. It is definitely worth the a cheat here and there. Enjoy occasionally and in moderation as with all things, but enjoy!

This is the best white bean soup available - period. I add some summer savory, tabasco and sometimes hot pepper sherry. Serve with chopped onion, and sour cream. I never tell anyone it came from a can.

If you've never tasted US Senate bean soup, you're in for a treat! This is the same soup your Senator eats in the Senate Dining Room! Dominique's is a famous Washington DC restaurant. Chef Dominique D'Ermo and his restaurants have earned five-star ratings. This soup recreates the original recipe. Sure, it costs a bit more than some other soups, but it is well worth it. One can has two one cup servings. I make a meal out of a can. I add nothing to the soup. You don't want to spoil the flavor. I'm a lifetime lover of bean soup and this one tops them all... except for the bean soup my mom made. You can sometimes purchase this soup at your local grocery store, but they usually devote only a small shelf space to it and it usually flies off the shelf. Highly recommended!

Have been looking for this soup for a long time and so glad we found it on Amazon. It tastes great!

These days we are too infirm to cook much, so we enjoy this canned soup as a good substitute for homemade.
