I was fortunate enough to purchase one of the original dozen F-2 bags that were shipped for retail sale by Jim Domke to National Camera Repair on Pennsylvania N.W., Washington, DC., in 1976.

Five of us in the same company bought them on the same day and we all realized immediately that it was the absolutely best camera bag to come onto the photographers equipment market up to that time. And between about 28 photographers....we had tried every type and shape camera bag made up until then.

What was so great about this bag was that after using it for a couple of months, it started to mold itself around not only your equipment, but where it touched your waistline. It was like a form fitted leather driving glove. I used this first bag from 1976 until 1984, five and six days a week, rain, sleet, snow or sunshine.

In my time on the street I probably went through six or eight F-2's.

And...........sitting on a shelf in retirement after those many years of service, is my great old friend, patched with blue jean denim and sewn with a leather repair kit on occasion, is the old workhorse, my first 1976 original Domke Bag made of just plain old butcher apron canvas.

Excellent camera bag. Has all the flexibility I need. Straps are placed just right. Domke is the brand for me from here on out.

This is a great camera bag. I am so tired of all the sling bags, ballistic bags, backpack bags, etc..... I love a bag that hangs next to me and molds itself around me. I got with this the US Postal shoulder pad and the combo is wonderful.
