This review is from: Don Juan and Men (Paperback)
He's the bad guy we all want, against our better judgement: the seducer, the serial lover, the hottie who overcomes our reason with the sheer force of lust he induces. In Don Juan and Men, he takes on many forms. The stories in this anthology conform to no particular style. There is contemporary urban fiction, realistic family drama, fantasy, BDSM, and tragedy here.

Editor Caro Soles contributes "A Weekend in the Country," in which a Russian nobleman gives a whole new meaning to the term "courtly love." Paul G. Leroux's "To Damn a Saint" paints a heartbreaking picture of the pain caused by the Spanish Inquisition. (Note: if you are unfamiliar with the expression "the odor of sanctity" before reading "To Damn a Saint," look it up now.) T.C. Calligari's "The Boy Who Bled Rubies" is a haunting, thrillingly seductive fantasy. These are just a sampling, though, of the many genres represented here.

The eroticism in these tales ranges from subtle to pulse-quickening, conflicted (or, in one case, arrested) to porn-worthy. The pages practically drip testosterone. This collection is a perfect fit for readers who want intelligent storytelling with their bad-boy hunks.
