This collection of 20 of Don's greatest hits is a great collection for all fans of the smooth side of country music and for fans of great storytelling, which is what country music at its best basically is. Every song speaks for itself. While most of the songs on here feature his smooth side, "Tulsa Time" may get the fan out on the dance floor doing the two step or the "Slappin' Leather" line dance. Don's interpretation of "Amanda" (which was later a #1 hit for Waylon Jennings) is as good as anything else he has done and is very heart-wrenching. Smooth country music back in the 1970's doesn't get much better than this, so this collection is a must have for your collection.

This is the best of the Best of's for Don Williams. Every song is good and there is a flow and feel to the whole disc. There is not a single song to skip over.
Don's voice is so pleasant and appealing. The production is always simple yet tastey. Don comes across with honesty and integrity. He's not afraid to allow his faith to enter into his music even when the songs are not Gospel. This is Country Music at it's best.
Don Williams is the first Country artist that caught my attention as a teenager and ushered me into an appreciation of this genre. I still would rather hear him sing and interpret a song than any other Country artist out there today.
The only thing missing from this collection is my all-time favorite William's song, Miracles. In fact, if you want the absolute best Don Williams collection, get this 20 Greatest Hits CD and also get "Lord, I Hope this Day is Good". There will only be one repeat in this 2-CD set, and you'll have the cream of the crop.
Happy listening!

In the age of so called Superstars Like Shania Twain and Brooks and Dunn, Don Williams could teach them all a thing or 2 about music. All of Don's Songs have a story to them that pull right at the heart strings, With Don's Sincerity and his Music writing ability and performing Don is one of the The FEW true country music legends and will continue to be for years to come, Don's singing style puts now days country singers to shame they could take a serious lession or 2 from him

Don Williams, to me, is the King of Country Music. No one else compares. He is one of the greatest storytellers of all time and his believes in every song he sings. My favorite songs of his are "Lord I Hope This Day is Good" and "Good Ole Boys Like Me". This is a very good collection of his hits and should be considered a gem in anyone's country collection.

If you've never listened to to this record before, give it a chance. It's an unbeleivable emotional ride (especially side 3). I'm a middle aged guy, and no soft sort, but it absolutely reduces me to tears. JN.

As a rule, I do not listen to Country Music. My parents have this CD and played it in the car during family vacations. I have found that I have enjoyed listening to this CD so much that I went to his concert when he was in town. I enjoyed listening to his voice so much that I just had to purchase this CD myself. His voice is sooo smooth. I suggest that while listening to this album, you cuddle with your honey on a cold winter's evening in front of a crackling fire. You'll have the most romantic night of your life.

Another reviewer said it best when they said, ". . . this collection of 20 of Don's greatest hits is a great collection for all fans of the smooth side of country music and for fans of great storytelling, which is what country music at its best basically is. Every song speaks for itself. . . . so this collection is a must have for your collection." There is nothing left to said except you will be missing out if you don't get this cd.

Don Williams was one of my husband's favorite singers. Every time I play the sound track it brings back memories of times long gone, never to return.
If you like country music, you should buy this album.

Don Williams is a great country/western singer. I have seen him in concert any chance I had. You can tell the songs he sings are coming right from his heart. I am moved by the ballets he sings. He also has a good rapport with the audience. I plan to collect his cd's as his music I had on albums. pat c.
