What do Dolly Parton, the United Kingdom's national anthem, George M. Cohan, comb-over envy and a sinful recipe have in common? Kacey Jones. They are just some of the targets in Kacey's latest foray into comedy with her wickedly hilarious new album "Donald Trump's Hair." One hundred eighty degrees from her last album, Kacey Jones Sings Mickey Newbury, a moving tribute to the late, exquisite songwriter, Kacey jumps head first into her comedy comfort zone. And she brings along her Band of Merry Collaborators to give us memorable visual perspectives of Dolly Parton ("I Want To Be Up Front Like Dolly"), Kenny Rogers ("(What the Hell Happened To) Kenny Rogers' Face?"), and assorted personal tributes to relationships ("I Can Always Get Skinny", "That's Why I Keep Him", "The Redheaded Man", and "I'm Living Alone"). But when the afterburners are cranked and Kacey hits high gear, she is vintage comedian/songwriter. Track 10, "Christmas In Rehab", is a happy little ditty and a Who's Who of detox inmates that is as telling about the lives of certain celebs as it is irreverently hilarious. Kacey's gift for songwriting/co-writing is eclipsed only by the order selection on her albums. Each track is a ramp-up to the next and on the irreverent heels of Track 10, Track 11 celebrates a laundry list of just about every gay celebrity in "God Save the Queens" while validating the relevance of gay-dom in rhyme! When we need a break from the hilarity, Kacey offers one track that, for me, brings all of our differences and quirks and idiosyncracies together with the beautiful standard, "The Glory of Love". Without it, we don't have tolerance, patience or understanding. Kacey's album, "Donald Trump's Hair", gives us the wherewithall to laugh at the human condition - as long as it's anyone else's! Oh, that sinful recipe I mentioned? Buy The Album!
