I heard "vamos nenas" and loved it enough to track down the band and their latest cd. The sultry soulful voice of lead singer ani cordero is a sweet gift that just won't stop giving. Highly recommend!

I had not known of this group from New York City until a month ago; I cannot understand why mine is the first review of this album that had been released in August 2008.By chance I caught them on Birmingham (Alabama) public television, from a local concert in 2008, and I was instantly captivated. A quartet that blends Spanish lyrics, sung by a lead singer instantly reminiscent of Linda Ronstadt and Tish Hinojosa (I am sure Ani Cordero has probably heard this all too often), with a hyponotizing cornet that reminds me of Hugh Masakela. I do not know the Spanish, but translations for most of the songs are available from the group's web site. The music is sultry, joyful pop. I find many web sites call this "Indie/ Alternative." That's crazy. 40 years ago we would have called this simply good music. It is timeless, and I challenge you to get this out of your head after a first hearing.
