So I bought these for my dad as a Christmas gift and you would think that I had given him a new Corvette.
My dad is a jeweler and previous to these had been using a sort of monocle magnifier to inspect diamonds and fix watches. I haven't heard him rave about something so much; he absolutely loves them and can only wonder how he operated so long without them. They are a huge eye saver for delicate and intricate work required when dealing with small parts and jewelry especially.

The increase in magnification was exactly what I needed. I would definitely recommend this little magnifier to anyone considering the Donegan LP-1 OptiLoupe.

This is a piece of JUNK. Everytime I use it the it comes loose and then the screws fall out.
Very poorly designed.

First order came in a flimsey padded envelope--broken. Able to go thru site get return, no hassle and replacement came in superior packaging. Works great, no problems. Highly recommend in conjunction with visor.

After trying several brands of visors and being unhappy with the poor quality optics, I bought this model and love it. The optics are sharp and the head band well made. I bought the accessory set of magnifiers and easily attached them too to the headband. They work very well and are a recommended upgrade.

I added a 2.5x magnifier to both sides of the Optivisor. I use one or other when I need to really focus on something. I collect vintage fountain pens and the Optivisor lets me see all flaws and issues up close. The 2.5x has a screw that replaces the black plastic tab that holds the magnify plate to the headset. I have never had them come loose, but blue Loctite could be applied if an issue arose.

We got this because we thought we needed an extra magnifier loupe. I bought the optivisor primarily to dig splinters out of my son's fingers since he gets them all the time. I would NOT recommend getting the little light attachment as it is not durable, reliable or strong, and keeps falling off the optivisor headband with the least bump.I haven't used the loupe yet and feel it is an extra bother to move out of my way. It does seem to stay hinged out of the way once moved, unlike some of the other reviews that mention it keeps falling down into their field of vision. My husband, however has used it all of twice to repair a micro electronic mechanical sample at work and see a video game circuit board at home to see what was broken on it. He gives it 4 stars since he likes it and since I don't use it at all, I give it 3 stars. If you feel you need extra magnifying above the 3.5X of the optivisor, then maybe it would be useful for you, but I don't use it at home for anything as the optivisor lens magnifies plenty for what I do with it, and I'm the primary user of the optivisor, which is handy. It leaves your hands free to hold the little, strong beam LED flashlight from Home Depot and the other to actually do any work. (Too bad the dumb little light that goes with the optivisor is useless - don't waste your money on that thing). All in all, on the loupe, a big......maybe.
