The only flaws with the unit are the battery pack. As one other reviewer wrote, using the springs inside the battery pack for both the positive and negative side of the battery is not the best design. My lamp functioned well out of the box, but expect it to fail prematurely because of this design. The other fault with this unit is the mounting clip used for the battery holder. If it were a fraction shorter in length, it would fit on the OptiVisor more snugly. The current clip allows the battery pack to slide at times. Another addition to this unit, which would make it a little nicer, would be an on / off switch on the battery pack. You currently have to turn the lamp lens to turn the unit off, which is similar to a mini MagLite. Although, this piece is not built nearly as durable as a mini MagLite.
All in all, the pluses outweigh the minuses for this piece. A couple little changes, and it would make it an excellent piece for the price.
As another buyer suggested, adding a piece of thin foils fixes it, but yet its a failure.
The bulb went bad on a unit only a few weeks old and I'm not sure I can get a replacement. Hope I can find out soon but not holding my breath and I expect to be overcharged for a replacement if they will sell me bulbs and this is expensive compared to other offerings in the market. Just like their OptiVisor and optional lenses (can you say up-sell) are overpriced.

Functionally, the Lighting is great. I occasionally do Faceting, and needed more light on my stone. Does that great. It's everything else that's the problem. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Tigerman21

Very impressed ! Nice bright adjustable light. Opti Visor is what the professionals use everyday.Published 8 months ago by Steve777
Works as advertised, but the clip for the battery pack isn't quite tight enough to keep it in place on the headband of the Optivisor magnifier.Published 11 months ago by Colorado Mac
Very crummy design means that it usually doesn't turn on, or, in some instances, that it won't turn off. Ridiculous. Replaced it with Euro Tool's LED attachment.Published 13 months ago by Nicefellow
