I am quite surprised that there are no previous reviews. If you like opera, if you like Donizetti and especially if you like opera buffo, this is the CD for you. There are none better.I have the original LP of the production, which I have enjoyed for many years, and whoever did the CD transfer - I dips my hat to you! Magnificent work! Listen to "Cheti, cheti", "Come gentil" and other gems, laugh, relax, enjoy and know that you have bought the best.

By Domingo Warner Quijada "music fan" (santiago, chile) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Donizetti: Don Pasquale (Audio CD)
I will write about Don Pasquale, only to say say it is a pleasure hear it each time and in this recording Anna Maccianti stands out and I never have heard more beatifully sung the Ernesto serenata "Come e gentil la notte a mezzo april",Ugo Benelli sings it splendidly. But i really like to write about Il campanello di notte, it is a little opera, a farsa, but how many things happens in so short a time, the star here is Alberto Rinaldi as Enrico, using falsetto to three diferents characters, apart of his own, marvelously backed by Alfredo Mariotti, and the little parts of Serafina, Madama Rosa and Spiridione and the chorus, that begins and ends the farsa, also are a delight to hear, because the singers have the opera in their blood. It is truly a pleasure for whom really enjoy opera buffa, if you really like opera it is a must.By the way ,Don Annibale is an antecessor of Don Pasquale when he imagines his future prole, with the added touch of imitating his imaginary children asking him sweet treats. What forty something minutes of pleasure.
