5.0 out of 5 stars A Blast from the Past January 24, 2008
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I recently received this CD and have listened to it several times already. I love it! It is a very nice mix of 50's-60's music that I remember so well. Usually there's at least one song on a CD that I skip past but not on this one. Every song brings back so many plesant memories. I think it is a great value.

Annette Bening presided over a memorably disastrous middleclass family dinner in AMERICAN BEAUTY which culminated in the unfortunate asparagus-throwing episode. Had she possessed and studied this Pop Culture artifact from 1962-63 she might have averted such mayhem, which the gracious, composed and dignified Donna Reed/Donna Stone would never have condoned in the first place.

TV daughter Shelley Fabares' iconic hit JOHNNY ANGEL definitively sets the timeframe alongside CAN'T GET USED TO LOSING YOU, BLUE VELVET and Bill Pursell's OUR WINTER LOVE. Sony/Nick at Nite have also thoughtfully included, because they care deeply about the wellbeing of Middle America, personal recipes and hostessing tips from stellar Donna Reed herself, as relevant today as they were 50 years ago. The aspiring, truly gracious host or hostess must own this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Songs that bring back memories. November 9, 2013

These are songs I grew up with. For all you dads out there with daughters, you need to listen to Mike Douglas' "The Men In My Little Girls' Life". It's great!
