5.0 out of 5 stars More complete than the US version December 6, 2004
Format:Audio CD
This double CD includes not only the score as in the US version, but all the soundtrack songs as well. Donnie Darko is an incredible movie and this CD evokes the whole mood of the movie. Excellent song choices, moving and deep. Would recommend this over the US version.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Treat For All Donnie Darko Fans July 20, 2006
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Donnie Darko is one of the best movies of the last 10 years. If you agree with this statement, keep reading.

Okay, you and I know Donnie Darko is the type of movie that's such an all-around viewing experience, it leaves you wanting more. And for fanatics like us, soundtracks often provide that little extra.

And this soundtrack does satisfy. Listening to the haunting score by Michael Andrews will bring back all those feelings you experienced while watching the film.

Plus, it's just a truly great score that can provide the perfect moody soundtrack for your everyday life, whether you're working, thinking, whatever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally :) February 22, 2005
Format:Audio CD
This is the essential Donnie Darko Soundtrack which has the score by Michael Andrews, some extra incidental music by Sam Bauer (the movie's editor) and his brother and roommate, as well as the "regular" songs by Echo & the Bunnymen, Tears for Fears, The Church, etc. are all on here.

All except one track: "Voices Carry" by 'Til Tuesday. It's the song that's playing in Donnie's bedroom when he's reading a book and his mom confronts him about not taking his medication.

Still worth five stars in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Donnie Darko UK Import : BUY IT!!! May 11, 2007
Format:Audio CD
Just bought this 2 CD import item. Was it costly? Sure: approx. $25. BUT, given that I nearly paid $20 for the US version which DOES NOT include the first CD, it was well worth it.

Delivery: SURPRISINGLY SUPER-FAST by USPS (it only took two or three days standard shipping)

Condition: Still wrapped in plastic.

Music: *tee hee* If you watched the movie, then you know what the music will sound like: it's the movie soundtrack (you know, the awesome soundtrack that both reminds the viewer of the 80's and also creates a haunting backdrop for the movie's themes). Typically here in the US that means only one or two of the good songs and the rest is the score. The UK version? ALL of the good songs and the entire score (that's why it's 2 discs).

Bad part? Not offered in US retail stores (i.e. you can only buy this online or in an Import CD store.

4.0 out of 5 stars Donhnie Darko Import Soundtrack well done August 23, 2006
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The import edition of the Donnie Darko soundtrack is two discs. One is the actual pop songs, and some classical works, which are all very good and includes the remake of Tears for Fears "Mad World." The second disc is the instrumental score, with two versions of "Mad World," included as well. The instrumental score is very dark and omenous, and the two disc set is a nice collectible piece of music that I highly reccommend. The price is a bit high, at over $30, but if you are any type of a fan of the movie, or a soundtrack collector, this album is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars In response to Craig Parsons... February 21, 2005
By Erik
Format:Audio CD
...Mad World is included on this set, in fact in two versions...I dunno what you're talking about...

This is a great soundtrack, and I don't know what he means to by the score being unlistenable - it is excellent, and all the songs are great. I'm glad that INXS' Never Tear Us Apart is included as that song is exclusive to the Director's Cut and is a great song, and should not be excluded over that fact.

It's a shame that this complete soundtrack was only made overseas. It's MUCH better than the domestic version that had only about half of the music from the movie.

I love the soundtrack and score but for as much as I paid the case should not have been cracked, so I am very unhappy with that.
