Book Description

Donovans of the Delta Series, Book One (Special Holiday Price)

When Martie Fleming breezed into small town Pontotoc, Mississippi, determined to settle down and teach jazzercise in her home studio, she never expected to land next door to the minister. She never expected her playful golden retriever to steal his shorts right off the clothes line. And she certainly never expected to fall in love.

Everybody in town would agree they are so wrong for each other - everybody but Paul Donovan. With her gypsy outfits, her lively music and her irrepressible spirit, Martie is exactly the angel the preacher needs. But can he convince her? Can their love and his career survive the small town gossip and the fireworks Martie creates wherever she goes?

This is the first of a 5-book romantic comedy series originally published by Loveswept - Donovan's Angel (1), Sleepless Nights (2), Hallie's Destiny (3), Any Thursday (4), and Higher Than Eagles (5).

Editorial Reviews

Review

"A vagabond musician decides to settle down in a small town and promptly falls in love with her next door neighbor. To her dismay, he turns out to be the local minister. Ms. Webb has done a really lovely job of weaving in the more serious problems relating to the hero's vocation while maintaining a marvelous sense of humor and romance."

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED it! January 31, 2012

This book made me laugh and smile all throughout it. Not having read the others in the series, I can't judge this one against the rest, but if the others are as light-hearted and hilarious, I look forward to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Series is a Wonderful Journey December 18, 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
"I'm so glad to find the Donovans of the Delta series re-released in digital format! This book has great characters and great comedy served up with just the right touch of tears. It has a great sense of place, too. I felt as if I were taking a tour through the small Southern town of Pontotoc, MS, and then later, the Peabody in Memphis. This is the first of the series and I look forward to reading all five!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, poignant and altogether lovely December 16, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I love this book! The author does a superb job of bringing a small Southern town to life with very funny secondary characters such as Miss Beulah and Essie Mae, the town's gossips. The baseball and fried chicken scenes had me laughing out loud. And the poignant resolution had me crying. This book is great romantic comedy, but it also explores deep conflicts as Reverend Paul Donovan is torn between his own needs and those of his congregation. Don't miss this lovely, lovey book, the first in the Donovan series!
