What a wonderful read...full of how to advice that will benefit all small business owners. I have attended SBA meetings to learn about government contracts and was so overwhelmed that I never even tried to bid on anything. Ms. Einmo's book has changed my view on how to do this by using the laws behind subcontracting to prime contractors. This books maps out the strategies that a small business owner needs to land the jobs.
I have to thank Ms. Einmo for a book that will change things for all small business owners who take her words of wisdom to heart! Creatively, Kim Anton Anton Graphics, Inc.

Einmo has created a detailed process for success. This is not for the faint of heart but then as a small business owner you live with challenges every day. Lots of the facts, i.e. process, forms, etc, are available in other resources. What made this purchase worth it's weight in gold is the premise behind the title.
I was an employee in the defense contracting world for a number of years and once exposed to it, like a lot of people, I wanted to participate. The traditional route that everyone tells you is waiting for the RFP, putting a packet together and then waiting. That is what I found from every other resource I found, whether it to books, online or other bidders. The value of the book is this: the prime contractors need you. Debi's book gets into specifics as to why, but it is not a one way street when dealing with a prime. Knowing this, knowing why (read the book!),creates balance in the negotiation process. Maybe things are never 100% fair when dealing with a billion dollar prime, but knowing they need you helps you from being less intimidated. I put this into practice yesterday when having the first sit down with a prime. I am certainly looking to them for real mentor-ship, and already have a friendly relationship with them, and I know this is a mutually beneficial relationship. ---- During my time in Iraq as a defense contractor employee, I had a succession of four different managers. Debi was the last one I had before leaving and was the most knowledgeable, most proficient, and most effective manager out of all of them. She was also the best LEADER. |
