I disagree with Publisher's Weekly,
By "nothoward" (Texas, like everyone else, apparently) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Don't Bug Me! (Hardcover)
I'm not sure what they were thinking, but it appears to me that they forgot what the intended audience is for the book--kids! Kids use cliches, fuss and fume over teasing, and happen to like the kind of humor that's in this book. Already I have seen it at schools' book fairs, and many of the librarians in my particular school district have already picked it up. It has grown quite popular among the kids I know, especially in my household. I thought you might like to hear an opposing viewpoint to PW's review, but of course the best way to formulate an opinion is to read it yourself (there's material in there for adults, too).

Great Book!,

I just finished reading the book, and I have to say, it was a great book. It was filled with wonderful humor, like the incident when Megan went to the school's kitchen looking for bugs. That was classic! I can also see it making a great movie or at least a play. I also loved the insect grave yard that Megan's little brother had set up. The chemistry between characters was also very well set up and displayed. Great book! I fully recommend it!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Don't Bug Me! (Hardcover)
We read Don't Bug Me at school and I like how Megan and Charlie became friends. I liked it when Charlie went to the park with Megan and Alexander. He told them why he didn't like bugs. I thought the best part was in the cafeteria. That was so funny! I really love this book. I wish it was a movie and then I could watch it all the time.

I really liked this book. I gave a report on it in school and itmade everbody laugh. I liked Alexander a lot. I have a little brother that is kinda like that. I wonder what will happen with Megan and Charlie? I wonder what candy bugs taste like. I think everbody should read this book.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S AROUND THE CORNER!,

What is cool/tight is that the author paired up a girl with the bugs. No offense to you girls. Her brother is hilarious! But I won't tell you why because that would spoil why he is so funny. There are twists and turns and a few tumbles but she makes the best of things. ....

This is such a neat book. I couldn't wait to read the ending and won't hesitate to recommend it to parents and their children. Ms. Zollman's characters were believable and delightfully funny. I hope Megan and Charlie will team up for another project.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Don't Bug Me! (Hardcover)
I really liked this book. I didn't like I would like it, because I think bugs are ikky. But Megan and Charlie and Alexander were such cool chraratrers that I kept reading even tho when Takmika caught the roach it made me shudder. I liked how Charlie told Alexander why we should study bugs. I liked how Alexander told Charlie that bugs were ok and why he liked them. We can learn from bugs and we can learn from each other. I liked Charlie's present to Megan at the end. I wonder if Megan and Chalrile will be freinds when they get older? Oh yeah, I liked it when everybgdy was trhowing soup around at lucnh trying to get the bug out of Rita's soup.

While I was reading this book, I have to admit that I could not put it down. Each page had me wanting to read the next until I was completely done with the book! After reading it, I recommended it to all my friends and told them that they just had to read it! I thought it was really funny when Megan actually went to the school's cafeteria to find the bugs. Its like every kids nightmare to find bugs in their food at the cafeteria. I also loved the bug grave yard. It was a great book and fully recommend it to everyone!
