Biography

Five years ago, the band gathered in Hawaii along with their biggest fans for what they thought was their last performance. Since that emotional finale concert, founding members Mark Stuart and Will McGinniss have tirelessly worked to raise awareness and support for the 100 orphans currently being cared for in Jacmel and Grand Goave, Haiti. Now, with additional new band members and a larger ... Read more in Amazon's Audio Adrenaline Store

4.0 out of 5 stars They're A BAND!!!!!!! Yeah! October 21, 2001
Format:Audio CD
Having had the pleasure of seeing Audio Adrenaline live in concert (and feeling like I was the oldest person there, at 36) I've held a deep appreciation for this group and what they have meant to the "Alternative Christian Rock" genre. This, their debut CD, has a lot going for it. The hit song "Big House" was my first introduction; an infectious, danceable rockin' tune (I did hear it at a dance). The songs "Can't Take God Away", "Don't Censor Me", and "We're A Band" really rock (especially the latter - on my first hearing, my jaw dropped as I exclaimed "WOW, That's CHRISTIAN Music??!!!") Other songs like "Soulmate", "My World View", "Let Love" and "Scum Sweetheart" round out this CD, leaving the listener thoughtful. I definitely recommend this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent debut album December 29, 2000
By E Neum
Format:Audio CD
Forefront Records' (DC Talk's record label) signed one of the best rock bands in 1993 - Audio Adrenaline. "Don't Censor Me" is Audio Adrenaline's debut release and it's monumental. The album starts with a great rock song, "Can't Take God Away" followed by "A.K.A. Public School." "Soulmate" slows things down a bit, as does "My World View." "My World View" is an excellent song - superb lyrics and music. Who could forget the song that follows? - "Big House." "Big House" was Audio Adrenaline's smash hit from this album. The song is uplifting and reminds listeners of what awaits us in heaven! "Jesus & The California Kid" is a Beach Boys style tune mixed with '90s rock. "Let Love" is a great pop song - the layering on this tune sounds wonderful! "We're A Band" is next - loud, in your face and awesome! "Rest Easy" is a quiet prayer followed by "Scum Sweetheart" - the lyrics personify the world. This album is alot of fun! I cannot recommend it enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound and message - geared to young people September 11, 2006
By E-Train
Format:Audio CD
I find this CD to be good for anyone who wants to hear pop-rock with good lyrics.

In particular, I think this Audio Adrenaline recording speaks to kids/teens with songs such as Can't Take God Away, A.K.A. Public School, My World View, Big House, Don't Censor Me.

These bring good messages to young people when so much music is littered with destructive lyrics. Go pick one up for yourself (or your kids).

3.0 out of 5 stars Old-school Adrenaline Stays Fresh! Film at eleven! March 20, 2001
Format:Audio CD
This album from one of the most laid-back and groovy alternative Christian bands in the business is almost seven years old, but it's still got a heckuva shelf life left. The tunes on this CD have several different styles. You'll hear pop/dance stuff as well as light rock and a little bit o'grunge. They even take a shot at a Beach Boy-esque sound! Part of Audio Adrenaline's appeal is that they can play almost any style of music, and do it well. Although this isn't their best album, it is decent. There are a couple of questionable tracks; namely "A.K.A. Public School", which seems a little out-of-place for an album like this, and the surreal "Scum Sweetheart" (you'll either love it or hate it; I'm still trying to decide which). It is a fun listen nonetheless, and it should appeal to new and old-school AA fans alike.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some good songs, but... December 30, 1998
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I bought this CD right after I heard 'Big House'. It is one of the most explosive songs I have ever heard. And other songs on this album like 'My World View' and 'Rest Easy' are very good and well written. But one of the first things that occured to me when I listened to the other songs were some weak and poorly written lyrics in 'Can't Take God Away' and 'Let Love'. Also, 'My Scum Sweetheart' is a bizarre song for an otherwise Christian album, and 'A.K.A. Public School' sounds like a promotional from the teachers association. Overall, this album has some high adrenaline songs, but the rest fall on their faces.

3.0 out of 5 stars it was OK... April 8, 1999
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I listened to this album once and found two really good songs: "Big House" and "We're A Band". Everything else...well, was iffy at best. If you want truly great Audio Adrenaline, pick up "Some Kind of Zombie" or "Live Bootleg". This one is OK if you are an AA fanatic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Toned Down Dissapointment! May 27, 2007
Format:Audio CD
Ok, so this CD isn't all bad. The lyrics preach a message, some of the songs stick in your head for a long time, and the production is passable. What is bad about this CD is the complete lack of interest it inspires in the listener. I listened to this a couple times the first day I got it, and then... Well, I haven't pulled it from my shelf again since. I guess the main problem with the CD is how toned down it feels. You basically have to blast the CD to get any actual "Adrenaline" from it, and even then it feels like quiet rock turned loud. Basically these guys talk most of the songs, and solo on guitar for minutes at a time, leaving an empty feeling, and odd taste in my mouth.

3.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable - But Not Their Best October 20, 2006
Format:Audio CD
This is Audio Adrenaline's second studio album. The band was still searching for a style at this stage of the game, and the album remains somewhat uneven. Having said that, the band does challenge the views of faith on songs like "Scum Sweetheart" and "Jesus and the California Kid". The songs "My World View" (featuring Kevin Max Smith of DC Talk) and "Don't Censor Me" are excellent indicators of the outstanding band AA would become, and "Big House" remains a benchmark of Christian pop/rock. Overall, though, anyone wanting to find out more about AA should start with "Underdog" or "Bloom".
