Book Description

October 26, 2010
Don't Change the Channel is the inspiring story of how one woman didn t look away from a news conference on TV, and chose to help a family whose lives had been devastated by a mother s murder. Jenn's outpouring of energy and care led to others being inspired and giving their all to help. Within three weeks of that news conference, a community-wide festival was held, a college trust fund was established, and the family was surprised with a new house.
This book motivates people to seize the moments in their lives to help others. No matter where you are in your life and how busy you are, you can make a difference. Step-by-step instructions are given on how to get involved, find a cause that you are passionate about, and make your time and efforts effective and productive. The book also focuses on the unique abilities of businesses, children, college students, and retirees to give, with different strategies at different ages.
Don't Change the Channel is an empowering book about how you can use your skills and time to make the world a better place.

Editorial Reviews

Review

My job brings me in contact with some of the world s most dedicated, focused, and talented people. Jenn Snyder fits in well with that group. Her mind is always working on a new concept, event or idea to make this world a better place. Relentlessly optimistic, her batteries never seen to run down.
Champions are not intimidated by the bunkers, the water hazards or the rough. Instead, they concentrate on the target. Jenn did that with Blake and his family, and she made magic happen. --Jim Nantz, CBS Sports Commentator, and Best-selling Author

Snyder s book is an inspiration to us all about how we can make a small or a large difference to change the world step-by-step. Knowing Jenn, I am constantly amazed at how, at her young age, she has been able to tap into the wisdom and the important gift in life of giving back.
Don't Change the Channel is the perfect road map for how every one of us ordinary people can take an event or something we are passionate about and do some good in the world. --Lee Woodruff, ABC News, and best-selling author

How do you get busy people to make a difference? Jenn Snyder s Don t Change the Channel is full of inspiring ideas and stories. From inspiring acts of kindness to organizing large fundraisers, Snyder shows how to move people to move mountains. --Rich Karlgaard, Publisher, Forbes Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Channel the Channel-a great model for life., July 15, 2011
This review is from: Don't Change the Channel (Perfect Paperback)
Jenn Snyder is one of the most incredible women I have ever had the pleasure to know. Not only is she a remarkable director of the Hood Hargett Breakfast Club, but she is also a wonderful writer, a giver, and a great friend. It is not often that you can find a woman who has such a big heart which makes her take action when she sees action is worthy and in such a creative way. This evidence is shown in more ways than you can imagine. Her greatness is proven in her book, Don't Change the Channel. She finds ways to make a huge difference which she has done in the lives of so many. Her story pulls from the lives of those who have shown the kind of love and action that Jenn has shown. What is amazing is how well in the book and in her life that she shares it. The book is motivational at the very least. I would so enthusiastically encourage that you read it because it shows that LOVE is a verb!!!!! -- and she practices what she preaches. I love to hang out with her because I can't help but believe that I will catch some of her goodness and spirit by osmosis!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gift (for Yourself or Someone You Care About!), July 6, 2011
By
This review is from: Don't Change the Channel (Perfect Paperback)
In this quick read, Snyder shares the story behind the day that she heard about a family in crises on the news. Her natural instinct was to change the channel, but her intuition told her not to that day, and the world is a better place for it.

What unfolded next is an amazing story of initiative, commitment, teamwork and incredible organization. The message is that we all have the chance to make similar decisions (small and large) every day. God bless Jenn Snyder for taking the time (and using her talent) to share it!
