5.0 out of 5 stars By far Mariah's BEST club mixes EVER
I thought things were looking up a few years back when Mariah's people signed on Junior Vasquez to remix Heartbreaker...but then they went right back to the painfully outdated David Morales for remixing, right up until "it's like That." Then they placed "we belong together" in the hands of Peter Rauhofer and the results were excellent. But this time, they went one better...

5.0 out of 5 stars By far Mariah's BEST club mixes EVER, December 14, 2005
This review is from: Don't Forget About Us (Audio CD)
I thought things were looking up a few years back when Mariah's people signed on Junior Vasquez to remix Heartbreaker...but then they went right back to the painfully outdated David Morales for remixing, right up until "it's like That." Then they placed "we belong together" in the hands of Peter Rauhofer and the results were excellent. But this time, they went one better. Tony Moran and Warren Rigg have transformed "Don't Forget About Us" into a huge peak hour diva anthem that could fit snuggly between a set featuring Deborah Cox, Inaya Day, Kim English and Vernessa Mitchell. And the Quentin Shelter Anthem gives us 12 minutes of deep dark brooding tribal beats--a very edgy, and completely new and fresh backdrop for Mariah's vocals.

However, if you are still holding onto the awful soft house of Morales that sounds like something from 1991, then turn to the boring Ralphi & Craig Martini mix, which is complete with a cheesy flute solo! Blech.

Mariah has always made sure to keep her club fans in mind, often rerecording vocals to make them work with a house mix. But this time, she has outdone herself, and i hope the big DJs who often pass her tracks by for being too commercial will give this amazing track the club airtime it deserves.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Dance Remix, February 4, 2006

I brought this CD single just for track # 2.
This is a great remix that gets you pumped up. It has a
beat that makes you want to hit the floor and sweat.
The Dance Floor Anthem mix is about 9 minutes long. However, it goes by quickly since you get caught up in the great vocals and beats.

This Remix has Rainbow Club Anthem all over it!

5.0 out of 5 stars IF IT AINT BROKE, June 27, 2006

Mariah's fourth single from the Mimi album rode on the succesful coat tails of We Belong Together. Basically the same beats with a little bit of changes. Kind of a cross between shake it off and we belong together. The remix featured here is less mariah and more rappers but sounds very good. Overall this single is not forgetable but loveable and memorable. Though I hope she doesn't get stuck in a style that becomes played out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good mixes, October 10, 2007

This review is from: Don't Forget About Us (Audio CD)
It's refreshing to find some good club mixes these days, in an age where minimalist remixes are getting released (and hated by the fans). I love these mixes, and most of the mixes from "Mimi" because she doesn't re-sing them. The Tony Moran mix is my favorite, with the Bini & Martini mix a close second with some unexpected (and fun) Jazz flute invading the song. It's a great dance floor throw down and worth the purchase.

R. Kelly has obviously heard Mariah with Bone Thug's N Harmony on their underated 1997 song "Breakdown".

Don't Forget About Us is close sounding to We Belong Together but if it aint broke........MJB goes by that motto as well...

1.0 out of 5 stars A Song That An Elephant Would Want To Forget, June 19, 2006

Other than that, this song is as forgettable as a macaroni and cheese and hot dog dinner at the first of the month when checks come out and you have enough on your ACCESS card to get Hot Pockets, Ramen Noodles, Banquet frozen dinners, Ho-Hos and Ding-Dongs. Years later, Mariah still hasn't learned how to rap.
