5.0 out of 5 stars Ray Brown All Stars Shine, August 16, 2007

This review is from: Don't Forget the Blues (Audio CD)
I bought this CD because I love Ray Brown. He does what he always does--makes every note count, lays down a solid groove and gives a great foundation to every song. Brown does very little solo work on the CD, so you will be disappointed if that's what you're looking for.
I was surprised to hear so much trombone work, but it works. The combo has what every jazz CD needs, killer musicians practicing their craft in perfect harmony.
If you are looking for a laid back, bluesy jazz recording--Don't Forget the Blues is just right.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of My Favorite Ray Brown/Gene Harris Albums, June 19, 2011
This review is from: Don't Forget the Blues (Audio CD)
I own every Ray Brown/Gene Harris cd, but this one really stands out as we have Al Grey on trombone, which really gives it that bluesy groove. Any cd with Ray Brown or Gene Harris is a gem. This one is a great one, because anytime you add a horn to this crew, it rocks!.
